Douglas P. Riddagh

November 11, 2014

Douglas P. Riddagh went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2014.  He was born on September 30, 1930 to Donald and Isabel Osmun Riddagh in Easton, Pennsylvania.

In 1953, after graduating from Rider University in New Jersey, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Opitz.  For 37 years, he was employed by the original Dixie Cup Company, which is now owned by the Georgia Pacific Corporation.  Most of his career was spent in National Production Planning and Human Resources.  Mr. Riddagh was active in many community organizations such as the Board of Directors of the Easton Children’s Home, Easton Home for Aged Women, Easton Area YMCA, and the Easton Area Industrial Redevelopment Program.  He was actively involved in his children’s extracurricular activities and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Easton.  Following his retirement in 1989, he and his wife moved to Satellite Beach, Florida.  He became an active member in the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and a Stephens Minister.  He also was a charter member of the South Brevard Beaches Kiwanis Club.  He loved to spend time with his family, travel, and work in his yard.   He was blessed to have been married for 61 years and enjoyed his family life to the fullest.  He will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man of integrity and honor.

He is survived by Marilyn, daughter Donna Rowe and her husband David of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, son Gary and his wife Harriet of Dade City, Florida, and brother David of Bushkill, Pennsylvania.  He was a devoted grandfather to his five grandchildren: Amy (Kevin) Weil, Julie (Sean) Kagi, Stephen (Jenn) Rowe, Andrew Riddaugh, and Austin Riddaugh and two great-grandchildren:  Kodie and Paige Weil.  He is pre-deceased by his father Donald, his mother Isabel, his step-mother Anne Riddagh, and brother Donald Riddagh.

Memorials may be sent to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic where a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Tim Rogers-Martin officiating.
