Henry W. Amerman, Jr.

Henry W. Amerman, Jr., 92 of Palmer Twp., PA died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at New Eastwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson.  Born November 24, 1924 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Orpha (Frantz) and Henry Amerman, Sr.

A graduate of Easton High School, he was a Corporal in the Marine Corps during WWII and employed by the Easton Express newspaper for more than 30 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter, he loved baseball and he was a licensed single engine pilot. Henry had been a member of numerous gun clubs, veteran associations, social clubs and was a member of the NRA and F. & A. M.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Estella (Stitzer) Bean Amerman; step-daughter: Sherry Buss and her husband David of Easton; step-son: Thomas Bean and his wife Mary of Pahrump, NV; half-sister: Carol Amerman in Florida; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 step- great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews including: Scott Amerman and Linda Amerman Thatcher. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Katherine Jacoby;  brother: Carl “Bud” Amerman; and sisters: Ethel Tenges and Doris Amerman.

Services are 2 PM Wednesday (April 26 ) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, with visitation from 1 to 2 PM in the funeral home. Interment is in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

    Dear Estella,

    We expect to be out of town on Wednesday, but we did want to see you and express our sympathy. We both knew Henry from our Easton Express days—he was one of the Revered Press Men.

    A pray for you asking our Heavenly Father to give you
    the courage to bear the sorrow you feel and beyond the
    sorrow there is a place of comfort from His words in
    2 Corinthains 1:3,4, and remember the hope of the
    fulfillment of His promise in Acts 24:15 of the resurrection.

    Estella and Family, Just heard about Uncle Henry’s passing. So very sad to hear. Such a kind, gentle man. Sorry we can’t make it up from Delaware, but our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest well my Dear Uncle and Godfather. Debbie (and Mom)
