James Vincent Campitelli

James Vincent Campitelli passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in Easton, Pennsylvania.  He was 88 years old.

James was born on February 20, 1926 to Mary and Ralph Campitelli. He was raised in Windber, Pennsylvania.  James was a veteran of the United States Navy and the U.S. Air Force, and served as a highly skilled radio operator.  He was married for 58 years to the love of his life, Caroline Campitelli, who passed away on August 30, 2013.

James was a self-taught television repairman who established his business, Maplewood Television, in Maplewood, New Jersey, where he remained a successful and respected businessman for over 30 years.

James was a wonderful man, loved by everyone who knew him.  He was generous and warm-hearted.  His favorite activity was to cook pasta for everyone on Sundays.  He would play endless games of chess, and he especially loved cigars and playing poker with his family.

James is survived by his children, Diana Gaillard and her husband Thomas, James Joseph Campitelli, and Elena Angeliadis and her husband Louis, as well as his grandchildren, Daniel Warzynski, Thomas Gaillard, Jena and Julia Angeliadis.  He is also survived by his brother John, and his sisters, Rosalie, Louise, Virginia, Margie and Leona.  James is preceded in death by his mother Mary Campitelli, his father Ralph Campitelli, his sisters, Eleanor and Joanne, and his brother Carl.

Visitation for James will be held Saturday, November 29, from 2pm to 5pm, at the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St. in Easton, PA.  A service will be held  Monday, December 1 at 1:45 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., E. Hanover, NJ.
