    Merle
My thoughts are with you and your children today. His suffering is over, but I am sure this knowledge does not diminish your grief or sense of loss. In reading his amazing obituary I realized how much his illness took away from your last years together. I never knew him, but he had to be somone very special to have you as his soulmate for 52 years. Peace to you and your family.

Being a young trombonist at Wilson HS, I always looked up to Joe as a role model. And a fine one, he was. Although 4 years older than I, he was always encouraging and inspiring. I am so sorry to know that he is gone. My most sincere sympathy goes out to the entire family.

The photo captures the Joe who was my colleague at The Express-Times. He loved sharing information about Easton, he adored his family and he was always interested and interesting. A classy man. Condolences to the Grollman family.

Our deepest sympathy to you, Merle, and to the family. Arnie kept me informed. Hard to believe that one person could be as active as he was. A real loss to the family and to the community.
