    Dear Clay and Grant,

So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I remember so well having dinner at your place with your mom and dad being so gracious, witty and entertaining. It was not at all like when our parents dragged us out to dinners with their (boring) friends and we just sat like silent bumps on a log. Bob always seemed to be interested in what I was doing and, as I recall, was very encouraging about my little adolescent efforts.. Maybe that was because he was a teacher (I also think he liked it that I was crazy about French!).

I wish you and your families peace and warm memories of Bob.

Dear Clay, we send our heartfelt prayers and thoughts out to you on this sad loss of your dad.
Our families go back into the 1950’s when we all lived in Forks Twsp. You, Elizabeth and your family have wonderful and fun memories of your many years with your mom and dad at your beach house. Bob’s loving and positive Spirit lives on in you all, to be sure. The way you and your family cared for Bob in his later years is extraordinary and inspiring. Love to you from us.

Bob Mitman was a loving, kind, husband, father and grandfather…..and true friend to many.
His good judgement and often humorous opinions were always well received and respected.
So proud of each of his grandchildren, he always bragged of their individual accomplishments.
Bob will always be remembered for his good nature, courage and long suffering as a perfect example for all. … Miss ya Bob…

Bob Mitman taught me French before I graduated from WHS in 1958. He was my co-worker when I taught English at WHS from 1962 until 1968 when I moved to teach in N.J. I respected him as a student and colleague. He has left me with many fond memories.
