Robert J. Lovell

Robert J. Lovell, 97, of Atria Senior Living Bethlehem, formerly of Palmer Township, died Monday, October 20, 2014 in New Eastwood Healthcare Center.

Born July 4, 1917 in Center Moreland, PA, he was a son of the late Clyde and Gertrude (Carpenter) Lovell.

His wife, the former Lois Joyce Worley died in January.  He worked for Met-Ed, Portland for 40 years and retired in 1979.  Robert served in the U S Army during WWII.  He was chairman of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 603 and an avid hunter and fisherman.  He and his wife travelled extensively in the lower 48 states, Canada, and Alaska and enjoyed their cabin on Sand Lake in Ontario.

Robert was a member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, Easton.

Surviving are three daughters, Karen Brown and her husband, Dennis of Palmer Township, Janice Drake and her husband, Gregory of Stockertown, and Lynn Johnson and her husband, Donald of Nazareth;  eight grandchildren, Stacey Andreas, Mitchell Brown, Andrew, Matthew, and Peter Goldsmith, Brian Kunsman, Bradley Johnson, and Jaclyn Loureiro; and five great grandchildren.  His daughter, Sandra Goldsmith, wife of Timothy Goldsmith of Palmer Township died in April.  His sister, Elsie Wills also died earlier.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 24 in College Hill Presbyterian Church, 501 Brodhead St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time in the church.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
