Doris V. Moore

October 2, 2026

Doris V. Moore, 94, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026, at The Village at LifeQuest in Quakertown, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born June 19, 1932, in Easton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Homer E. Litsinger and Gladys (Hulsizer) Litsinger. She was the beloved wife of William A. Moore, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2007.

Doris was a proud graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1950. During her high school years, she was active in the band and school musicals and was also a member of Earl Held’s All Girl Band.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Doris was a longtime member of First Evangelical Congregational Church in Easton and later Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wilson Borough, where she served on the church council, praise committee, and WELCA.

Doris devoted countless hours to serving her community. She was a member of the Women’s Board of Easton Hospital and volunteered in the hospital gift shop and flower room for more than 45 years. In recognition of her dedication and service to her church, school, and community, she received the Palmer Township Community Service Award in 2002.

Above all, Doris was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment they shared. She especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and gathering with family for holidays and birthdays at her Old Orchard home, where she lived for more than 65 years.

Doris found joy in the simple things that made a house a home. She loved cooking for her family, sewing, crafting, learning about local history, and spending time at the New Jersey shore. She was also a loyal and cherished friend. Throughout the years, she regularly gathered with her high school sorority friends, maintaining a special sisterhood that remained an important part of her life.

Doris is survived by her son, Kim Moore and his wife, Maureen, of Coopersburg; her daughter, Kerie Pohlidal and her husband, Ken, of Southport, NC; grandson Ian Moore and his fiancée, Corinne Martinko; granddaughters Allison Schaffer and her husband, Josh, Kirby Turner and her husband, William, and Kadie Pohlidal; great-granddaughters Emilia Turner and Arletta Schaffer; and great-grandson Will Turner.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at United Fellowship Lutheran Church, 2115 Washington Blvd., Easton, PA. Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Fellowship Lutheran Church. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Dear Kim, Keri, and family. I am so deeply saddened by the passing of your mother and my friend. She was one of my mentors at Good Shepherd. Though she didn’t easily accept passing her reigns forward to me, I know eventually she did so with her blessing. And through it all we became good friends. I will cherish all of the times that we spent together through the years. From all of our church activities together, all of my communion visits with her, the many heartfelt conversations we had, and above all, the closeness that developed into a dear friendship. She will forever be in my heart. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May God be with you through this difficult time. Take care and God bless. R.I.P. sweet Doris.

My grandmother and “Dorie’s” grandmother were sisters. My father and her mother were cousins. What did that make us? 2nd, 3rd cousins? Friend – that’s what Dorie was. To have Dorie as a friend was pure fun and pleasure. Her obituary says it all. She loved unconditionally and was loved in return. She will be missed by all. May she rest in peace with the love of her life, Bill.
My condolences to Kim, Keri and family.

Doris spiced up th neighborhood. She certainly spiced up our lives. We had a lot of fun times with Doris and there were often long talks about Jesus and because of those talks I know beyond a shadow of doubt that Doris is in Heaven with Jesus now. Thank you for all your love to both of us. You will live on in our hearts forever.
