
Harvey G. Messinger, 74, of Easton died Thursday, July 18, 2013 in his son’s home in Plainfield Twp., PA.
Born: June 24, 1939 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Frank and Hilda (Sterner) Messinger.
Personal: He was a graduate of Easton High School and served in the US Navy. He had been employed by the former Dixie Cup Company (American Can/James River/Georgia Pacific) for more than 40 years before retiring in 2001. He was an avid golfer and huge Easton High School football fan, especially enjoying the Thanksgiving Day Games. He also loved the Redskins and the Dodgers.
Survivors: 2 sons: Barry of Bangor, PA; Bruce and his wife Cindy of Plainfield Twp., PA; 2 daughters: Connie in NJ; Joann DeHaven and her husband Douglas of Lower Saucon Twp., PA; a brother: Ernest of Bath, PA; a sister: Lorraine Fazekas of Hazelton, PA; 7 grandchildren: Emily and Ben Messinger; Barry, Joshawa and Nicole Matlock; Shianna and Ricky Klingle; 3 great-grandchildren and his former wife: Frances of Bangor, PA. He was predeceased by siblings: Maynard and Raymond Messinger and Doris Castner.
Services: Will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday ( 7/23) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton with visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
