Richard "Spider" Parr

Richard “Spider” Parr, 81 formerly of Easton, PA left this world February 11, 2018 in Florida looking forward to love and peace with the Lord Jesus Christ. Born June 15, 1936 in Binghamton, NY, the youngest of five children to Leon and Martha Haring Parr, he was raised in Easton with his most enjoyable days attending Wolf Junior High School and Easton High School, Class of 1954 with the very best classmates one could have. Among those being his two loyal friends Frank Lavalva and Dave Frawley. He served five years in the Navy during the Korean War, four years aboard the Destroyer USS John Hood and one year a the Naval Air Development Center in Johnsville, PA.

After 30 years with the US Postal Service he retired and traveled to Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Arizona and California playing baseball for various teams including one in the Senior Olympics. His ten years with cancer played the decision to stop playing ball.

He is survived by the mother of his children, his first wife: Patricia Fisher; his daughter: Dorothy Nolasco (husband Jim); his son: Ricky Parr (wife Josie); and his sisters: Gladys Reed and Marge “Squirt” Weidner with whom he shared all the memories. He was predeceased by his second wife: Elizabeth Brooks Parr, brother: Donald Parr, USN and sister: Dorothy Bruno, Esq.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 1:30 PM Friday (June 15) at Easton Cemetery, N. 7th Street, Easton, PA.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.

Spider was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and would appreciate a donation to the same to save those children. Give flowers to those you love while thay are still with you.
