Kenneth F. Dunn, Jr.

The Honorable Kenneth F. Dunn, Jr., 74, formerly of Easton, Wilson Borough and Palmer Township, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born September 5, 1943 in Easton, he was a son of the late Kenneth F. Dunn, Sr. and Ruth M. Walter Cook.
He retired from the Delaware River Bridge Commission where he worked for 8 years.  Previously he was a salesman for Penco, Losey’s and Stoke’s Electric.  He also worked for Tony’s Ice Cream, H. N. Crowder and Ram Industries.
Ken graduated from Easton High School in 1961 and served on the reunion committee.  He was a singer and actor in Wolf Junior High School plays and received various technical school degrees.  He attended Churchman Business College and served with the PA National Guard for 8 years.  He also served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.  He served on the Wilson Borough Council from 1990–1994 and as mayor of Wilson Borough from 1994–2002.  He was a grass roots leader in the PA State Republican Party and a life member of the Wilson Borough Republican Club.
Ken was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was a former member and vice president of council and served on the cemetery board.  He also served as treasurer of Union Church (Hay’s) Cemetery.
He was a life member of the PA Jazz Society where he served as 1st Vice President and on its Board of Trustees as 2nd Vice President.  He was a life member of the Order of Fleas and Safety First Volunteer Fire Company.  He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution and a member of the Board of Managers, the Wilson Borough Lions Club, Easton Lodge #152, F & AM, Wm. Parsons Chapter #185, OES and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #45.  He was a past president of the former Easton Area International Management Council of the YMCA from 1978–1979 and 1987–1988 and was Vice President of the Resident’s Council at Gracedale.

Surviving are a daughter, Jayme and her husband, Glenn; a step-son, Greg; a brother, Milton and a sister, Gloria.  A brother, Bruce, died earlier.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time on Saturday in the funeral home.  Private interment will be held in Hays Cemetery.
