Richard S. “Dick” Weidman, 85, of Bethlehem, formerly of Portland, Pa., died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus with his family by his side.
Born December 2, 1932 in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late James Weidman, Jr. and Edith (Servis) Weidman. He and his wife, Carol A. (Hamer) Weidman were married 62 years.
Dick was the comptroller for Bethlehem Steel, Marion Barbour Division, Bridgeport, W. Va., retiring in 1980 after 25 years. Later he worked for the West Virginia Treasury Department in Charleston, W. Va. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and attended First Baptist Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving with his wife, Carol, are his son, Richard S. “Rick” Weidman, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Abington, Pa.; a brother, David Weidman and his wife, Robin, of Portland, Pa.; a sister, Stephanie Weidman of Portland, Pa.; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His brother, James Weidman, III died earlier.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Portland Cemetery.

Dear Aunt Carol, Rick, and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dick was loved by all, and we’ll always remember him with a twinkle in his eye making us laugh with his dry sense of humor.

My dear Carol – WOW! Remember dating those Weidman guys who came to our school? Remember marrying those handsome fellow? One time, Dick -after marriage – and you moved a rather far distance for him to fulfill an important job. That didn’t stop any of us – visits kept us together – to talk lots on the telephone, too. Dick’s humor kept me laughing on the phone every time we had calls. And. I will never forget those visits when I no longer had my Jim. He and you both were so great to see.

Now it’s just us, Carol, and when we talk on our phones, we will have the best remembrance’s of Dick Weidman along with more than a few chuckles. Lots of love to you…….Ann
