Robert W. Wolfinger, 92, of Country Meadows, Bethlehem, formerly of Raubsville, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021. He is now once again dancing polkas with his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara, who passed in 2008. Bob was born on March 25, 1929 in Harrow, Bucks County, PA to the late Henry and Bertha (Lightcap) Wolfinger. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.

Bob graduated from Nockamixon High School. Shortly after graduation, Bob enlisted in the US Navy. After receiving his training, he was stationed in Little Creek, VA aboard the USS LST 980, later named the USS Meeker County, as an Enginemen. While serving during the Korean War, tours took him to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Greenland.
Upon his honorable discharge in December 1951, Bob started his career as an auto mechanic at Reedman Cadillac, later going to work with his brother George at Wolfinger Dodge, and ultimately working at Met-Ed, all in Easton, retiring in 1989 as a Fleet Supervisor after 23 years of service.
Upon retirement, Bob and Barb together enjoyed snow birding in North Fort Myers, Florida, cruises, casino trips and the annual Navy LST Reunion, which was held all along the eastern seaboard. Bob also enjoyed any time with family, especially his five grandsons.
Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason of Prosperity Lodge #567, F&AM, now Saucon Lodge #469, Scottish Rite, The Valley of Allentown, a member of the USS LST Ship Memorial LST 325 and a retired board member of the Raubsville Cemetery.
Bob is survived by his son Dale, and his wife Janice of Bethlehem, PA and daughter Brenda Newman, and her husband Stephen of Gettysburg, PA and five grandsons: Ryan, Michael, Jake, Scott and Timothy.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Country Meadows Bethlehem for the compassion and love given to Bob on a daily basis. In addition, the family would also like to thank St. Luke’s Hospice for their commitment to ensuring his comfort and peace during the last months of his lifelong journey and also to the family.

Per Bob’s request, interment in Raubsville Cemetery will be private. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, PA is handling the arrangements.
