Nicholas Balaskas, 95, of Palmer Township, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born May 2, 1926 in Easton, he was a son of the late William and Katina((Hagedikes) Balaskas. His wife, Fotini (Doganis) Balaskas died in 2019. He served in the Navy during WWII and worked for Bethlehem Steel for over 35 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was a life member of American Legion, Brown and Lynch Post 9; VFW Post 1290; and Amvets Post 17.
Surviving are a niece, Kallirroi Parashos and her husband, Hariton; great nephews, Nicholas Parashos and his wife, Megan, Demetrios Parashos, and Christos Parashos and his wife, Althea; and a sister, Jean Karaliotis and her husband, Gus. His brothers, John Balaskas and James Balaskas and his sister, Georgia Balaskas died earlier.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 319 S. 20th St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday in the church. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Township.
