Joan M. Murphy

Joan Marie Murphy, 86, of Wilson Borough, PA died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at home. Born January 7, 1935 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of the late Verna (Slingland) and James McAuliffe. Her husband Eugene F. Murphy died in 2009. She had been employed by the Dixie Cup Co. and MCS Industries for many years before retiring in 2001. Joan enjoyed bingo, watching horse races and playing the lottery. She also loved crossword puzzles and time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Tammi Wilson of Palmer Twp., Terri Mento of Forks Twp., Marie Murphy of Wilson Borough, and Joseph Murphy of Brooklyn, NY; a brother: Joseph McAuliffe of Wilson Borough; sister: Beverly Wells of Gilbert, PA; 5 granddaughters: MaryKate, Gina, Amanda, Malerie, and Alexandria; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene and siblings: Jim, Pud, Bill, Shirley and Mary.

Services are Private. Interment is in Northampton Memorial Shrine. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com
