Bruce J. Walter

Bruce J. Walter, 90, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family and community. He was born on September 17, 1934, in Easton, PA, the son of the late Harvey J. and Beatrice D. (Arnold) Walter.

Bruce was a proud graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1952. He dedicated over 30 years of service to Bethlehem Steel Company before retiring in 1983. A man of quiet strength and steadfast faith, he was a lifelong member of the former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Betty, and their two children: Deborah (Duke) Lindsay and Douglas (Patricia) Walter. Affectionately known as “Pappy” to his grandchildren, Bruce was a devoted grandfather to Mark Walter, Brian Walter, John (Carina) Lindsay, Kevin (Adrianna) Lindsay, and was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah (Lindsay) Dudzic (Tom). Bruce was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be conducted by his close friend, Reverend Sloan Gordon, who is entrusted with carrying out Bruce’s final wishes. Arrangements are under the care of Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, PA.

Bruce will be remembered for his deep love for his family and faith, his unwavering values, and the quiet dignity with which he lived his life.

    Dearest Betty and family. I was so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Bruces’s passing. My heart goes out to you. He was such a good man. I always enjoyed my our visits and the many talks we shared through the years. I will remember him fondly. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May God be with you through this difficult time.
