We were saddened by this devastating news. Even though Carl was very understated and private he always spoke openly and proudly about his family, their plans and his positive relationship with his children. We always looked forward to seeing him. His artistic ability showed through in his beautiful work. Carl made me look like a rock star. We will miss you, Carl.

The news of Carl’s passing is devastating. He was more than a great stylist, he was a beautiful person who always had something to share. There was never a time I left Salon Cardeen without learning something from Carl. I will miss our chats.

I’ll never forget the many great times I had with Carl on the road and playing music with Carl. It was always uplifting to be around Carl, and his love of life showed through in everything he did.

Carl was my cousin and good friend. He was always there for all of us, the 7 cousins who all grew up together. He offered cheer, artful ideas, service, God’s hope and the love of the Universe. We surely will remember you and pray for you daily.

I’ll always think of Carl when I hear the Beatles, read Deepak Chopra, or sip a glass of Amarone. He touched so many lives through his kind and gentle nature. Carl’s love of music and his family was palpable, but especially the joy and love he had for Chelsea, Ryan, and Marissa. He was taken from those who loved him much too soon, and will be greatly missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I just heard about Carl’s passing. He was so compasionate and he truly loved his children and his italian heritage. We shared many stories at my visits to the salon about our family holiday tradtions, especially the feast of the seven fishes for christmas eve. To his children, he shared all your accomplishments with such pride….he was a very special person to all who were lucky enough to have known him…..he will be missed. Prayers to your family.

I will always remember Carl fondly….a dear and gentle man with sparkling eyes and quiet tone…and so creative! Richard Gere always reminded me of Carl,..and always will. Carl happily spoke of his children…..he so enjoyed his vacations with you! May you always remember his joy and love for you, and it will sustain you. His love for you all will live on. Blessed be!

I met Carl a few times and he was a great guy, very outgoing. I worked closely and I am friends with his brother, Paul Brazzo, R.Ph. I remember the great stories Paul told me when they both were in their band together, doing what they had a passion for. My heart goes out to Carl and his family, as well as Paul Brazzo and his family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!

I just heard of Carl’s passing. He was my haircutter for 30 yrs. He will be sorely missed. Carl was such a talented guy. I have fond memories of the Illicks Mill days in the 70’s & his bands. This is so heartbreaking. My prayers go out to Carl’s children & family.

I was shocked and saddened today to hear of Carl’s passing… He was so smart, talented as a musician and stylist, witty and a dear friend over the years. I’ll never forget him driving 100 miles to share an afternoon with Max to brighten his last days and say goodbye. I’m sure they relived a lot of their “band on the road” days… My deepest sympathy to Carl’s family and friends….Carl will be terribly missed.

I hardly know where to begin. The loss of such a beautiful person leaves a hole in the fabric of the Universe. My friend , Janet, suggested I go to Carl for a haircut. She told me he was “the best”. That was 30 years ago. That is roughly 240 hair appointments. Each time I left the salon feeling beautiful. Carl had a way of making people feel important. He had a kind and gentle nature, and a wonderful laugh. He was a joy to be around. Talk about positive energy! If you ever had a question about cars, food, careers, doctors, vitamins, colleges, vacation spots, he could offer excellent suggestions. He was a walking Consumer Reports! To quote a line from the movie, Moonstruck, Carl, “You have such a head for knowing!”
Whenever Carl spoke of his kids, his face lit up like it was Christmas. What a proud and loving father. My prayers and sympathy go out to Carl’s family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Even though I didn’t see Carl frequently, when I did, it was like I saw him every day, he was family. Not only was he a friend, he was like a brother to me.

Carl and I grew-up in the same hometown. Carl had a contagiously positive attitude. He had a great influence on me during a specific time in my life when I was making some life altering decisions. He was so supportive–and for that I am forever greatful…having the pleasure of knowing Carl was truly a blessing. He will be dearly missed.

It’s crazy that in a little more than a month it’s going to be a year now dad. I love you and miss you more than anyone can ever imagine. I don’t understand what some of the signs you have been sending me mean, but I am so thankful for you sending me Aiden. He is basically a mini you, which can be a good and a bad thing haha. He has helped me through so much already. I really wish you could’ve been here to meet him, I know you would love him. God I miss you, everyday it feels like new news when I realize you’re not here anymore. I miss your smile, your support, our nightly walks and talks in the kitchen, our jam sessions, going to see louise and curlys, going to church every Sunday and our day trips to the beach. I’ve been working on my music for you, guitar, piano, singing, the sax and music theory. I hope youre proud. I feel like you were in the audience while I was performing Phantom the other week. I always feel like you’re there when I’m playing or singing. I miss you so much. I wish things would’ve turned out better in the end, I know what happened to us kids is not what you would have wanted. But Chelsea and I are close now, which I know you’re happy about. I love you dad and miss you and will never forget about you, ever. I hope you’re rocking up high in the heavens!

Excerpts of the following by Bertrand Russell capture some memorable aspects of my brother’s uniqueness: his gentle way; his propensity to reflect; his boundless appetite for life and living; his yearning for privacy even while assuming a public persona; his reverence for beauty and simplicity; his studied yet playful focus on his craft; his unease with those who might openly lament his circumstance.
From ” Solitude”
Blest who can unconcernedly find hours,
Days and years, slide softly away,
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day, sound sleep by night.
Study and ease, together mixed;
Sweet recreation and innocence,
Which most does please, with meditation.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown,
Thus unlamented, let me die.
Steal from the world,
And not a stone tell where I lie.

I knew Carl back in the APF days, he was a sweet generous person and boy did he know his sports cars, he bonded with my father over his 280z. So sad to hear of this so much later. So many times I wondered how he was doing and didnt reach out, this is a hard way to learn a life lesson, dont wait in life, we have a short time.
