Charles Victor “Vic” Young, 99, of Forks Township, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Born February 8, 1920 in Freemansburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Beulah Mae (Miller) Young. He was the beloved husband of Thelma “I. “Betty” (Fehr) Young. They were married 76 years.
Charles retired after 40 years from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1985. He was a WWII veteran as a medic in the Battle of the Bulge having served with U.S. Army 84th Inf. 334th Reg. Division (Rail Splitters), received a Purple Heart and Cluster WWII. He was an avid gardener, woodworker and loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty; brother, John; daughters Debbie Crafa and husband, John, Cindy Seiple and husband, Roy; sons, Craig and wife, Dianne, Brian and companion, LaRae McCormick; grandchildren, Timothy Van Horn and wife, Tonya, Joshua Young, Jeremy Young, Rebecca Viglianti and husband, Steven, Ryan Seiple and wife, Danielle, Randy Seiple and wife, Kara, Christine Seiple; great grandchildren, Tyler, Sophia and Owen. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Jennifer Van Horn; brothers, George and Richard and sisters, Marjorie Schlough and Marilyn Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Forks Cemetery.
