Charles W. Chidsey

Charles W. Chidsey, 81, of Mt. Bethel, died Monday, March 7, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono. Born August 30, 1940 in Easton, he was the son of the late William C. and Helen (Butler) Chidsey. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Bennington during the Vietnam War and worked at Bell and Howell in Phillipsburg and Allentown for over 35 years until retiring in 2001. He was a member of the former Portland United Methodist Church, the Bangor Jacksonian Club, and the Portland American Legion. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Jeff Gordon fan.

Surviving are his wife, Geraldine F. (Setsodi) Chidsey; two sons, Charles A. Chidsey and his wife, Christi, and Edward Chidsey and his wife, Karen; eight grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Crystal, Cody and his wife, Caitlin, Connor, Elizabeth, Luke, Miranda and her fiancé, Andrew, Jason, and Adam and his wife, Caitlin; seven great grandchildren, Noah, Caliana, Carter, Brayden, Raelynn, Kane, and Everleigh. His daughter, Kerri Dombrosky and his sister, Carolyn Vlahakis died earlier.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in The Historic Easton Cemetery, 401 North 7th Street. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

    We grew up together in the 50’s, graduated EHS 1960, used to drag Northampton St. on the weekends. Have many great memories of those times. Thanks for your service to our country Charlie..Condolences to your family

    Had many chats at the Mt. Bethel diner and always enjoyed his wit and company. What nice man and always spoke so proud of his family. Rest in peace 🕊️ my friend.
