David Von Bing

February 16, 2022

David Von Bing, 68, of Kintnersville, PA died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with family by his side. Born on September 28, 1953 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late Ernest and Maryann (McGovern) Von Bing. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and was a field operations manager for Nissan North America, Inc., Somerset, NJ for 35 years before retiring in 2019. David was an avid recreational pilot, a talented woodworker and had a passion for gardening. He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Darlene A. Kaminsky and her children, Daniel Kaminsky and Kelly Kaminsky; three grand daughters and so many family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Roger H. Von Bing.

Dave had a passion for life and everyone who knew him loved him. He was happiest when building birdhouses, working in the garden, flying his airplane or traveling with Darlene. He loved to sell his wares on his little farm stand and was active in the Doylestown Farmers Market. He was adored by his grand daughters and the feeling was mutual. He was the most genuine, generous and caring person you would ever meet.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Memorial contributions may be made to Penn Medicine Transplant Institute, www.pennmedicine.org. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Godspeed Dave. Thanks for the wonderful adventures you set up for us back in college. We always laughed our butts off as you clicked away to preserve the memories that we would share over the next 45 yrs. I’ll miss ya, pal.

Rest in peace Dave. I will miss seeing you out in the yard taking such great care of your property. Planting in the spring, arranging all your firewood in the fall, plowing snow in winter and arranging your farm stand in summer. Having a neighbor as kind and helpful as you for the past 20 years has always given me a sense of peace and security. You were so hard working and kept yourself in great shape. Thanks for the help throughout the years.. Chestnut lane is not going to be the same without you. I cannot believe you are gone and there is emptiness on the Lane. I know you are flying over us in a plane we may not see. And I know your presence will be sensed by many. You have angel wings now and will be missed. Joanne

Dave was a long time friend and confidant to Rick since Rutgers University. He was there in our wedding and there for our daughters. We had so many adventures together. Skiing on the weekends, parties, dinners. Dave was like a member of our family. We were fortunate to spend so much of the last 5 years together after relocating to PA, not far from Dave. We went through so much together, the good and recently the challenging times. Dave was so full of life! Energetic, kind, a talented craftsman who built beautiful bird houses he was so proud of. He was an avid pilot who introduced Rick to Flying. Rick went on to become a commercial pilot. We canĀ“t imagine our life without Dave. The reality is jarring. He will be missed so much. His time here was too short. We treasure every moment.

Rest in Peace, Dave. We’ve shared a lot of good times and adventures since meeting in college. It was great to see you at Ro’s get-together this past summer.
You left us much too soon, my friend, and will be missed, but never forgotten.
    Fly high, buddy!
