
Donald S. Stackhouse, 92, of Florham Park, NJ formerly of Easton died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at home.
Born: June 27, 1919 in Easton he was a son of the late J. Laurence and Belle Scott Stackhouse. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Brobst, have been married 66 years.
Personal: he attended the Mercersburg Academy and graduated from Easton High School in 1936 receiving his BA from Duke University in 1941. He was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was the owner/operator of Star Recruiters in N. Plainfield, NJ for many years before retiring in 1983. Prior to that he was in the financial and corporate management field for companies including J.T. Baker Chemical, Allied Chemical and Richardson-Merrell. In his spare time he enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing cards and day trips to New York City.
Memberships: he was a member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, Easton and the Old Guard of Plainfield.
Survivors: his wife: Elizabeth; son: Douglas E. of Arvada, CO; brothers: Laurence of St. Louis, MO and William of Easton, PA. He was predeceased by a sister: Helen Bradford.
Services: will be 11 a.m. Friday in the church, 501 Brodhead St., Easton with a calling period from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Streets, Easton is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.
