Donna Cecelia Steveken Morris

September 3, 2015

Donna Cecelia Steveken Morris, 82, died peacefully in St. Luke’s Hospice September 3.  Formerly of downtown Bethlehem, PA  and Baltimore, MD, Donna was born in St. Paul, MN. Her former husband of 30 years, Joseph Bernard Morris, Jr., who passed in 1999, worked for Bethlehem Steel. Her partner and caregiver, Don Macrae, died suddenly in 2013. Donna worked for over 20 years for PBS-TV Channel 39.  Her brother Paul went missing in the Phillipines in 1974. Donna attended St. Joe’s Academy, St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul and graduated from NCACC.

Donna lived a quiet life. She loved: a few people, decorating, music, art, growing things, reading, a good time, a good joke, Monty Python, movies, collecting, chocolate, wine, and traveling.  She was: smart, frugal, shy, beautiful, had a sly wit and kept trim by walking, stretching and avoiding carbs and cheese. She was always there for everyone and was known for her ready smile.

Her two daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Levin of Allentown and Virginia (Ginny) Carpenter of Bath and their spouses Jon Levin and J.H. Carpenter and her grandchildren Matthew Morris Levin, Michael Chief Levin and KC Leigh Carpenter invite you to join them in a celebration of “Mimi” on Saturday, October 3.  Graveside: Nisky Hill Cemetery on Church Street at noon followed by a walk down High Street to the Sun Inn on Main Street. An informal “Irish wake” with food and drink will begin thereabouts  in the Sun Inn on Main Street in Bethlehem. All are welcome to join in sharing stories about Donna and having a good time.   Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Contributions to:  Alzheimer’s Disease Research at the UCLA Medical Center, the VNA St Luke’s hospice, or any “poor children’s” charity in Donna’s honor. God bless her soul.
