This beautiful, funny, caring lady was such a big part of my childhood I don’t know where to start. I value the relationships my parents had with Doris and George and the others in ‘Six plus Six’. It was fun always being around them having fun. Our picnics, Jersey shore family vacations and all else will be with me forever. Also, Doris took credit for mixing up her magic elixir that put my mother into labor, allowing me to be born on my father’s birthday the next day, yet another thing to love her for. Will never forget you ‘Rosie’ [her cheeks would blush up after a few cocktails] with the gang they named her. My deepest sympathies and prayers to the entire family, and RIP to one of my favorites. Love always, Louis.

To my best friend of sixty three years when Tony surprised the Fishers with his new bride one Sunday afternoon…and from then we were family with six boys between us! We vacationed with them and the 6 plus 6 friends. You could always hear Doris laughing, she had one of those laughs.. and you also hear her and Tony argue about poker rules!! She was always there for me …I loved her like a sister and I know she loved me too! I will always miss our Rosie , and did I mention that she was gorgeous. To George, Ellie and Gary, my deepest sympathy and love. Bette

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother. I am Gloria Anders Otto Miller, and you will not remember me. For a few years, my dad, Wes Anders, was married to your grandmother, Emma , which put Doris and me in a position of being “sisters.” But my memories of Doris go back to the1940s. Her Frankenfield parents and my Anders parents were friends, and Doris often became the babysitter for her brother Ronald and me. Ron and I were classmates at Forks School and beyond. Our two families were much involved with Forks Township Fire Department and the social club there. Unfortunately, life moves on in different ways, and I have not seen Doris in a long time. She was my idol when she was the Easton High Twirler, and was the most beautiful girl I had known. I do remember you boys as young children, when my dad was your “grandfather” and we were together at the house on Elizabeth Ave. Peace be with you, and keep her memory in your hearts. Loved ones do not die, as they live within your heart forever.
