Edward John Tukeva, Jr., of Bethlehem Twp., PA celebrated life for 66 years before going home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Born January 2, 1954 in Stamford, CT he was a son of the late Dolores (Northridge) and Edward Tukeva. A graduate of Easton High School and Penn State, he was president of the family business, Easton News Co., before retiring after 41 years. Ed was a faithful and loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He cherished his wife, Rose, and their three daughters, Elisa, Simone and Natasha. Family was everything to this man, and hockey too. In his younger years, Ed was a typical boy, spending his days down by the river with friends. He learned the game of hockey and became a passionate fan of the game, always rooting for the Boston Bruins. From an early age, Ed learned the value of family and watched out for his sisters. He was dependable. As a father, Ed coached his daughters in several sports. He cared deeply and was always there if they needed anything. He was active. Ed and Rose played in a volleyball league and would attend concerts with friends. Ed spent his free time playing hockey or landscaping his property. He was a simple man that enjoyed the presence of good people and good music. Prior to his death, Ed was joined by family and friends for one last backyard concert. He smiled. He relaxed. And on September 1st, he found rest.
The family would like to give special thanks to his sister-in-law Judith and niece Megan and her husband Ted for their tremendous medical support and guidance during this difficult journey.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Rosemary (Seagreaves) Tukeva; daughters: Elisa Tukeva (husband Michael), Simone Tukeva (husband Matt Snyder) all of Nazareth, PA, Natasha Tukeva of Bethlehem Twp.; sisters: Karen Giles of Dunwoody, GA, Vicki Tukeva of San Pablo, CA, Maria Tukeva of Washington, DC, Jan Tukeva Emrick (husband Gary Emrick) of Bushnell, FL; grandchildren: Emerson, Remi, Gavin; aunt: Helen Ritter; mother-in-law: Yachiyo Seagreaves ; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by a sister: Judith Tukeva and father-in-law George Seagreaves, Jr.
Ed’s family will conduct a private celebration of life ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Hockey of the Lehigh Valley, 5261 Vera Cruz Rd., Center Valley, PA 18034. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Rose & family. We are so sorry for your loss. It’s hard to find the words. One of my favorite memories with Ed is sitting next to him at a Deep Purple concert. He and I were pumping our fists in the air to the music and you and Lynn had your hands over your ears. Great night.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

The news of Ed’s passing really hit me hard…I feel so good i visited him at work 2yrs.ago while in Easton. We spent an hour or two bringing one another up to date and what a proud husband & father he is! We then called our very close friend Kim”Lem”Moore ,we laughed until it hurt about the times”at The Country”and hockey and our greatest times together growing-up…While leaving we hugged and told each other “Luv ya’man, see ya soon!”…PLEASE GOD SHOW SPECIAL LOVE TO ROSE&ALL FAMILY,,I’m so sorry…R.I.P. to a great great friend, you will be fFOREVER missed.

Eddie.
I was certain we’d reconnect, catch up, perhaps @ the 50th in ‘22. We’d talk about the cabin, the Anchorage, Dunes Til Dawn with the Bonnie Parker Band.
Captain Beefheart, Hookfoot, Hendrix.
Lem, Vito, Laubach.
Burns Bamford.
The lake at the cabin which merited it’s own novella.
I met Sr. just briefly (Vito will have to provide the details), but I knew it was a tight family.
I forgot about the Bruins but assume Derek Sanderson was the role model.
Albright, with you and Strawn anchoring in front of Lem. I was the fan in the stands. 2:00am.
My heartfelt condolences to Rose, your daughter, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews. No doubt you’ve made an indelible mark in all.

My mom called me on her 72nd Wedding Anniversary before I called her. She was worried that she had to tell me that Eddie Tukeva died and gave me this website.
Wow. Shame on me that I didn’t know before my 96 year old mom. Shame on me that I haven’t kept in touch with my childhood friends. But..
Do I have memories of our childhood ! It was the best ever that any kid could imagine. What I can tell you is that Eddie and his family are bigger than life and a hoot and a half. His Dad was a character. Big guy, big voice, big personality, I learned how to properly curse from him. Thank goodness for him Mrs Tukeva gave him Eddie cause he had nothing but Babes for daughters. Seriously. Mrs Tukeva was an awesome mom and a respected friend of my mom.
There are way too many stories to tell in this venue about the things we did but they were great things. Things for the ages. Things with our friends that were good. Really good. Rest In Peace my friend. I love you.

Rose, Elisa, Simone, Natasha and Family,
I was deeply saddened when I heard of Ed’s passing. Many of my best childhood memories come from hanging out at my favorite neighbor’s house. 🙂 I was thinking back on the days when I was over almost every single day and how Ed was such a great family man, the perfect match for Rose, and how he would always make sure Elisa and I were having a great time and would keep us laughing. He was simply the best!! My heart breaks for all of you. Hugs to all and please reach out if you need anything.
May angels lead you in Ed <3
Love,
Laura

Words fail me, Rose, to express our sadness for you. The many wonderful memories and God’s sustaining love will hopefully help to ease your broken hearts until the day you all reunite in Eternity.
