Eva C. Stem, 98 formerly of Easton, PA died February 20, 2019 at Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, PA where she enjoyed living prior to her passing. Born September 27, 1920 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Simon and Christina (Parish) Korpan. Her husband Chester R. “Chet” Stem died in 1995. A 1938 graduate of Easton High School, she had been employed by Doug Cooper Auto Mall and Alpha Portland Cement. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was in the choir, Altar and Rosary Society and Council of Catholic Women at the former St. Bernard’s Church. She had been a Girl Scout Leader Troop #4, Past- President of the Easton Garden Club, Corresponding Secretary of the Garden Club Federation PA District 2 and volunteer at the Crayola Factory, Miller Blood Bank and ProJeCt LEARN. Eva will be remembered for her joyful sense of humor, always ready with a joke.
She is survived by her children: Jeffrey A. Stem (wife Robin) of Brodheadsville, PA, Christine Bailey (husband Michael J.) of Germansville, PA; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Chet, son Seth and a grandchild.
Mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday (Mar. 2) at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 132 S. 5th St., Easton, PA, with a calling period from 10 to 10:30 AM in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements. Interment is in Easton Heights Cemetery.

My heart goes out to you on the loss of your Mother. I remember you telling me many times that you were going to visit her and I’m sure you shared many good times with her.
I can see where you get your cheerful smile and love of nature from.
May those wonderful memories you had with her always bring a smile to your face.
