Our parents and family shared so many good times with “The Appels”….and friendship with Gloria spanned decades. We hold those memories dear, and will never forget your mom’s hospitality, good cheer and many kindnesses. Her friendship will certainly be missed. May God comfort you all. My sincere condolence.

Gloria was a dear friend and my spiritual mentor. She took me to my first Bible study at the Dutch Reformed church, encouraged me to assist with the special Sunday school class at Luther Memorial, and gave me a Bible to help with my spiritual growth. (Bet she had no idea what she set in motion!) After my Mom died, Gloria was like a grandmother to our two children, attending preschool programs and welcoming Sue and Chris into her always child-friendly home. I have so many wonderful memories of outings to Holmdel Park to feed ducks and times she and Henry welcomed us into their home. We rejoice that she is now resting in the arms of our Lord – but feel such sadness at the hole she leaves in so many hearts. Our sympathy to all the family for your loss.
    With love, Betty Muecke
