Helen P. LaFever

Helen P. LaFever, 97 formerly of Easton, PA died Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort, PA. Born July 19, 1926 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Michael and Yustyna (Turszmanowicz) Pitela. A 1944 graduate of Easton High School, she was employed by C. K. Williams for 12 years and was the church secretary at the former First United Methodist Church for 27 years before retiring in 1996. Helen was a member of Green Pond United Methodist Church and the Easton Block Watch. She also volunteered at the State Theatre.

She is survived by her daughter: Jill Moulthrop (husband Mark) of Lehighton, PA; granddaughters: Lori Hontz (husband Matthew), Julie Kelchner (husband Chris); step-granddaughter: Vanessa Berger (husband Shawn); 5 great-grandchildren and 2 step- great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband: Herbert N. LaFever; her son: Jack H. LaFever; and siblings: Anna Brockett and Stephen Pitela.

Services are 10:30 AM Monday (Nov. 6) in Green Pond UMC, 4411 Green Pond Rd., Easton 18045 with visitation 10 to 10:30 AM in the church. Interment is in Hay’s Cemetery.     Sorry for your family in the passing of Aunt Helen. Your faithful care I am sure brought her many happy hours. I will be thinking of all of you on Monday.
