Hiroshi Togawa

Hiroshi Togawa, 51 of Nazareth, PA died Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. Born June 5, 1971 in Tokyo, Japan he was the son of Masako (Yoshimura) Togawa and the late Masahiro Togawa. He was employed by the Amerisource Bergen Company in Bethlehem.

Hiroshi had a hard life. He’d fallen in with the wrong people, made wrong decisions, chose the wrong way to deal with everything by following his father’s example and finding solace in alcohol. But, in the end, he found the right path and made the right decision when it counted the most. He said yes to rehab and it finally stuck. He spent the last few years of his life surrounded by the family who continuously gave him the chances and strength he needed to win the fight of his life. He was celebrating two years of sobriety. Throughout all his years of struggle, he still found the will to laugh at life, always with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. He leaves behind fond memories of thumb wars and playful wrestling, of chasing dogs around the house in a game of tag. He was always willing to lend a hand to his sister in her recent endeavors to build a flower business and was very handy with a set of tools, particularly when it came to carpentry. The last few years will always be treasured in the minds of those he left behind.

He is survived by his mother, Masako; his sister: Miyo Holt and her husband Kevin with whom he resided; and nieces and nephew: Misha, Kayla and Logan Holt.

Hiroshi, in his passing, gave the most generous gift of life to three people through organ donation.

All are welcome to join the family for a Memorial Reception honoring Hiroshi’s life on November 1 from 6 to 8 PM at Quadrant Book Mart & Coffee House, 20 N. 3rd St., Easton (dinner will be served).

Thank you for helping three people continue their lives by donating your organs; and for putting in all the difficult work to turn away from alcohol!

To the Family of Hiroshi, please except my sincere condolences on the passing of your Loved Son, Brother and Uncle and a person I called my Friend. My name is Gordon and I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing Hiroshi from when he started at Amerisourcebergen as a temp. To see his hard work in trying to obtain a permanent position it was an easy choice to offer him a position which he enjoyed and proved our company made a correct decision in his selection. Reading his struggles as we all have had in our lives shows that he was a fighter in making his Family proud. I would like to confirm he was well liked and respected at work, his passing was a somber day and his impact in his short time there was felt by many and he will be greatly missed. His Smile was infectious, I am Happy to call him my Friend and I miss him. Thank you for allowing us an opportunity to comment and May God Bless you All.
