Ida F. Peters

Ida F. Peters, 92, of Easton, PA passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Easton Nursing Center.

Born: January 16, 1921 in Hackensack, NJ, she was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Jennie Ravallo, who immigrated from Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily.

Personal: Ida was a remarkable woman who had worked as a dressmaker, and was a member of the ILGWU.  She also worked in customer service.  She loved and celebrated life with great energy, positive thinking, lots of laughter, and later, with incredible strength and perseverance.  She was a widow with no children, but a wonderful godmother, aunt, grand aunt, and great grand aunt who never forgot to commemorate a birthday or holiday without a card and a note.  If you were a godchild, you got two cards!

Survivors: As Ida was the youngest daughter of a family of six children, there are many who mourn her loss, including, nephews, Tony DeMalio, of Sicklerville, NJ, Guy Ravallo, Joe Ravallo, Anthony J. Ravallo, Sr., and Linda Ravallo of NJ; several grand nephews and nieces, including, grand niece and goddaughter, Manon Alewynse, of Tampa, FL, grand nephew, Leen Alewynse, and his daughter, great grand niece, Brenna, of Olney, MD; grand nephew Anthony J. Ravallo, Jr., and his sons, including Anthony M. Ravallo, Cody Ravallo, and Kyle Ravallo, of NJ, as well as other grand and great grand nieces and nephews, not to mention innumerable cousins.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Rose DiMartino, Michael, William and Anthony R. Ravallo, and Josephine DeMalio; and also by her nephews, Harold and Martin Brenner, niece, Anne Jackson, and niece and goddaughter, Fay DiMartino Alewynse.

Services:  There will be a memorial service for Ida, who was Catholic, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ, at a later date.  She will be interred at her parents’ family plot with her youngest brother, 2nd Lt. Anthony R. Ravallo who died serving our country in WW2. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
