James Joseph “Jim” Algieri, 70, of Wilson Borough, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 in his home.
Born in Easton on November 11, 1947, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Carmela A. “Molly” (Barbera) Algieri.
Jim graduated from Easton Area High School in 1965 where he was a member of the Key Club and U.N. Charter in History class. He received a letter from Senator Hugh Scott for History in Politics. He also attended Churchman Business School for accounting. He worked in the composing room and the circulation department at the Express-Times and he also worked at Laubach’s Department Store, Cooley’s Detective Agency, Mack Printing, the Easton School District and the Temple Covenant of Peace. In 1954, he was on a Christmas Show on WGLV TV, Easton. He was also in religious plays for the Cub Scouts, was a member of the Chansonnette Theatre and was a speaker about the Bible at St. Mary’s Church. He was in a Coca Cola commercial with the High School Class of 1965 and in 2011 his picture was used in an ad for U.P.M.C. Jim liked baseball and boxing. He liked watching classic TV shows and old movies from the 1920’s to the 1960’s and he liked classic Rock ‘n’ Roll, especially the 1950’s.
He is survived by his brother, Louis R. Algieri of Wilson Borough.
Services will be private with interment in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Easton. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
