James T. Geronikos

James T. Geronikos, 85, formerly of Easton died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in the Taylor Hospital Hospice, Ridley Park, PA.

Born: September 17, 1926 in Roanoke, VA he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruby Phelps Geronikos. His wife the former Bessie Gianopulos died in 2008.

Personal: A 1944 graduate of Easton High School, he excelled in basketball for the Red Rovers. Fulfilling his patriotic duty, he along with many of his classmates, left early to join in the war effort. He served with distinction in the Pacific earning a Commendation Medal. He is also the recipient of the Pacific Theatre and WWII Victory Medals. He had been the owner of AAA Vending Co. in Allentown for many years before retiring.   Memberships: He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Media, PA.

Survivors: 2 sons: Thomas J. and his wife Alexandra of Media; Anthony J. and his wife Laurie of Slatington; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday (5/25) in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 319 S. 20th Street, Wilson Borough with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church; the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.
