Janet M. Leone of Easton passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus with her loving sister and her loyal friend by her side. Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Rose Leone. She was a graduate of Easton High School, the Easton Hospital School of Nursing and the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Anesthesia. She was employed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by Easton Hospital for 40 years before retiring. She was very proud of the fact that she never “lost” a patient in all her years. She dedicated her life to her family and her work, treating her patients like family and always willing to help others.
She was a member of the Italian Culture Club, the Arba Sicula Club and numerous Anesthetist Associations. She had also been active in the Hillcrest Camera Club and was the recipient of numerous photography awards. Janet loved to travel around the world even to remote places. She was spunky, full of life and a very special person.
She will be missed by her best friend and sister: Rosalie Leone with whom she resided; her brother: Nicholas Leone of Easton; and many friends who loved her. A sister Amelita Leone died in 1994.
Services are 11 AM Thursday (March 22) with a calling period 10:30 to 11 AM in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment is in Easton Cemetery.
Floral arrangements or memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will gladly be accepted in her memory. Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Dear Nick and Rosalie,
I was blessed to have Janet as my Godmother, since she and my mother were roommates at Easton Hospital’s School of Nursing. I
was in awe of her knowledge, kindness and willingness to help
her family, friends and co-workers. I will miss her terribly and pray
that we find comfort in our loving memories of her.
All my love and deepest sympathy, Karen (Keenhold) Dietterick

Dear Rosalie and Nick,
We encountered Janet for the first time through R. Perrone and met frequently at the Allentown Italian Club. We know her as a kind, warm and thoughtful person. (She even came up between her patients for a quick visit when one of us was hospitalized in Easton Hospital.)
We will miss her,and those several conversations in Italian that we shared.
Hopefully she is now able to rest in peace, and hopefully her peace will comfort you and give you strength to carry on.
In prayer, Anthony and Evelyn Di Candia

We were next door neighbors for a short time but friends for a lifetime. Janet was such a kind, loving person full of life. She embodied everything we all aspire to be. Heaven will receive her and she will be at peace and free from the pain that ravaged her body but not her beautiful soul. Rest in peace janet.
