Jay dedicated his life to helping others. His dedication to teachers and education leave lasting marks. His bright, warm personality will be missed. Cheering Texas Longhorn sports with his beloved Sandy brought fun. Rock on, dear Jay.

I have just learned of the passing of Jay Levin. It was a great pleasure to have Jay work for me while I was Executive Director of Texas State Teachers Association. He was a terrific advocate for teachers, children and the public schools of Texas. After both of us retired and life slowed down a bit, we were able to spend some time together enjoying life. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss of Jay! I was a colleague of his in 1997-2005 through the Texas Coalition for Public Schools, an anti-voucher group. Jay taught me many things about legislative advocacy and strategy. I viewed him as a wise, seasoned guide and appreciated his advice and encouragement. He was such a strong advocate for teachers, schools, and children!
