Jo-anne N. Pessin, 88, formerly of Kennett Square, Pa., died Friday, July 28, 2023, in Riddle Village, Media, Pa. Born June 25, 1935 in Bethlehem, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Morton and Bella Rose (Jaffe) Neuman. She and her husband, Herbert E. Pessin, were married for 69 years and prior to moving to Kennett Square, lived in Erie, Pa. for 23 years. Jo-anne graduated from Moravian University in 1957 and was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth, Wilmington, Del.
Surviving with her husband, Herbert, are a son, Joseph A. Pessin; a daughter, Melissa S. Pessin; a brother, Jerry Neuman; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Bnai Abraham Cemetery, 2001 Church Hill Rd., Forks Township. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. My Aunt Jo-anne will be greatly missed. Always kind and engaging, she had so much beauty and class. I used to try to emulate her moves as a child after a visit.

When I think of my aunt I think of elegance. I was happy that I was able to speak to her a short time ago, sorry that physical distance has kept us from seeing each other. She has been in my thoughts so often. I have missed her and the rest of my family.
