Joan Sher Kerbel

Joan Sher Kerbel, 75, of Easton died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in her home.

Born: April 19, 1937 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Jack and Ruth Bugen Sher.

Personal: She was a graduate of Easton High School and the Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing and had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Easton Hospital and Eastwood Convalescent Center in Wilson for many years before retiring.

Memberships: She was a member of the B′nai Abraham Synagogue, Wilson and active with the Leisure Club and Bridge Club. She also enjoyed going on cruises.

Survivors: Two sons: Howard M. Kerbel and his wife Beth Fuqua of Montclair, NJ; David B. Kerbel and his wife Susan Getz Kerbel of Columbia, MD; and three grandchildren: Kate, Jeffrey and Griffin Kerbel. She was predeceased by a daughter Lorraine in 1991 and a sister Doris Novick.

Services:  1:00 p.m. Friday in B′nai Abraham Synagogue, 16th and Bushkill Streets, Easton; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in B′nai Abraham Cemetery, Forks Twp.   Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

    On behalf of the Easton High School Class of 1954, I want to express our sympathy to Joan’s family. Recently we had a nice chat regarding several of our classmates – always enjoyed talking with her and will miss doing so in the future.

    I was saddened to hear of the sudden death of Joan. She was a classmate of mine in Nursing school and I had the privilege of sitting next to her at our reunion in Oct. She will be sadly missed.
