To all the Grube family,
I graduated with John in 1968 from Easton High School but our story
goes back many years. We both lived in Easton and attended St Luke’s Church at 11th and Ferry Streets taking classes to be confirmed. John was baptized and I was not. So in order to be confirmed you had to be baptized first. Our pastor took me to the altar and needed a sponsor so we took John along to be my sponsor (godfather). So technically speaking John was my godfather. I would see John many times either working or at a dinner. I’m glad a saw him in late August at Williams Restaurant. We sat at the counter talking about many things. Sorry to see you go old friend. (I mean Godfather)
