John Z. “Jack” Siegfried

John Z. “Jack” Siegfried, 96 of Phillipsburg, NJ died Saturday, July 27, 2013 in the Lopatcong Care Center.

Born: February 10, 1917 in Easton, he was the son of the late John and Eva (Jones) Siegfried.

Personal: He had been employed by Pfizer Corp. for 18 years before retiring in 1973. He had also owned and operated Jack’s Barn in Butzville, NJ. A graduate of Easton High School and the Army Air Force Cadet School, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Jack was also “the most avid Phillies fan in the world”.

Survivors: His son: William J. Siegfried and his wife Alexis of Port Murray, NJ; 2 granddaughters: Laurie Tartaglia and her husband Nick of White Twp., NJ; Lexis McCoy and her husband Rik of Hackettstown NJ; and 4 great-grandchildren: Anthony and Niya Tartaglia; Aidan and Owen McCoy. His wife, the former Helen G. Mensky and his sister: Belle Goodhart died earlier.

Services: Will be held Noon, Wednesday (7/31) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton with visitation from 11 to noon. Interment will be in Easton Heights Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions: May be made to the Lopatcong Care Center Staff, payable to Elaine Bell, Administrator, 390 Red School Lane, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

    Uncle Jack was special in many ways. Very sorry for your loss Bill, but he had a good run and I’m sure a good life.
