Julia Ondov Bidwell

Julia Ondov Bidwell, 93, of Manchester, NJ, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospice House.

Born:  September 17, 1919 in Raritan, NJ, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Kovac) Tkacik.

Personal:  Her first husband, Theodore J. Ondov and her second husband, Kenneth Bidwell died earlier.  She was an executive secretary for the Somerset County Board of Freeholders.  Prior to that she worked at American Partition, Bound Brook, NJ.

Memberships:  Julia was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manchester, NJ and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Raritan, NJ.  She enjoyed crocheting afghans and was a friend to many.

Survivors:  Three sons, Ted Ondov and his wife, Virginia of Ingram, TX; John Ondov and his wife, Margaret of Clarksville, MD; and Donald Ondov and his wife, Rhoda of Whitehouse Station, NJ; a daughter, Judy Nordell and her husband, Lance of Forks Township; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Two sisters and a brother died earlier.

Services:  A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 5 at 2:00 pm in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2309 Route 70, Manchester, NJ.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

    I have nothing but fond memories and thoughts of Aunt Julia. You never forget those who were always kind to you as you were growing up. She wore an aura of warmth and charm that taught me that family members could be the source of the best qualities that anyone could possess.
    Thank you, Aunt Julia, for the richness you gave me, the dignity and the class that were your strengths, the many kindnesses you bestowed upon a young person.
