Marilyn Jean “MeMe” Schoenborn, 91, formerly of Palmer Township, died Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Williams Manor, Wind Gap.
Born October 26, 1928 in Wilson Borough, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Rudolph Schoenborn and Marlowe Brown (Koehler) Schoenborn Richter.
She worked in Human Resources for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Easton from 1946 to 1993. She graduated from Wilson Borough High School in 1946 and attended Churchman’s Business College. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilson Borough where she was president of Church Council, sang in the choir, was the chairperson for the Worship and Music Committee and was the Lutheran Brotherhood Communicator. She was president of Women of ELCA and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Safe Harbor. She served on the board of Third Street Alliance for Women and Children, Two Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and American Red Cross, Easton Chapter and was vice president of Executive Women International, Lehigh Valley. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Laureate Epsilon Kappa Chapter, Easton, Church Women United and Easton Oratorio Society.
Marilyn loved to travel. She traveled through most of the 50 states and enjoyed time in Europe and Israel. She was a member of “The Victory Group”, a Sunday School class which evolved into a lifelong social club; however, nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family. MeMe was a dedicated daughter, sister and aunt. She will be truly missed but forever in our hearts.
Surviving are two sisters, Kay Louise Richter of Easton and Peggy Dee Richter Vellner and her husband, Ronald, of Chalfont; niece, Leia Cai Vellner and her fiancé, John Pettibone; nephew Rhett Stuart Vellner and his wife, Heather; great nieces, Scarlett and Helena Vellner and great nephews, Ryder Vellner and Johnny Pettibone.
Services will be announced by the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

I’m so saddened to read of Marilyn’s passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. She was a lovely lady. I enjoyed my visits with her, sharing communion and conversations. She always had such a beautiful smile. I will remember her fondly. R.I.P. sweet Marilyn.

Marilyn was a great friend to our family. Her deep Christian faith was radiated in her warm, caring way.
“Me-Me” touched the lives of many through her Professional. Community & church involvement. Maury and I were truly blessed by her friendship.

Kay and Peggy – So sorry to read about Marilyn’s passing. She was a lovely lady and our family has fond memories of her and your family. My brother, Dick, worked at Pfizer and had great respect for Marilyn along with many of his co-workers. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
