Marjorie M. West

Marjorie M. West, 83, of Harmony Twp., NJ died Monday, January 2, 2012 in Warren Hospital.

Born: July 5, 1928 in Wilson Borough she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Hannah Doll Miller. She and her husband J. Brooks West have been married for 62 years.

Personal: A 1946 graduate of Wilson High School she had been employed by Bethlehem Steel and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Memberships: She was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg and had been the drummer in the Earl Held All Girl’s Band.  She was a Brownie and Junior Girl Scout Leader; a life member of PTA;  Past-President of the Harmony Twp. PTA and member of the Warren County Juvenile Conference Committee.

Survivors: Her husband: Brooks; 3 daughters: Jann Woodburn and her husband David of Cudjoe Key, FL; Randa Barabas and her husband Joseph of Plainfield Twp., PA; Karen “Becky” Brandt and her husband David of Harmony, NJ; a son Reed West of Cape Coral, FL; 9 grandchildren: Sarah, Emily and Adrienne; Corinne and Bryan;  Jennifer, Derek, Kevin and Allison; and 5 great-grandchildren: Chandler, Caleigh, Catharine, Evelyn and Cole.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Harmony Presbyterian Church, 2727 Belvidere Road., with a calling period from 10 to 11 in the church; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in St. James Lutheran (Straw) Church Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

    Dear Brooks,

    I was sorry to hear of Marjorie’s passing. I have fond memories of working with Marjorie on the Harmony PTA. I will always remember her warmth and her kind welcome to me when I first moved to Harmony. My sympathies to you and your family. I will remember all of you in my prayers.
