Marvin B. Rosenthal, M.D., 88, of Williams Twp., PA died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Country Meadows in Bethlehem. Born Jan. 1, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Elizabeth (Gartner) and Robert Rosenthal. He was a graduate of Alfred University and received his medical degree from the University of Leiden in Holland. After serving his residency at Kings County Hospital in New York, he completed a Fellowship in Hematology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and then served as a Captain in the US Air Force. He was a partner at the Somerset Pediatric Group in Bridgewater, NJ for many years where he was also a past-president of the Heart Association of Somerset County. From 1984 until 1999, he worked with the Family Practice Residency at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was also an adjunct professor at the New Jersey College of Medicine. Dr. Rosenthal was a past-president and member of the Temple Covenant of Peace, Easton; and former board member of Historic Easton. He was an avid tennis player who loved classical music and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Janet (Swerlick), his son: Robert G. and wife Kerrie M. of Palatine, IL, his sister: Marilyn Koff of Mahwah, NJ, and two grandchildren: Jonathan and Sarah, both of Chicago. He was predeceased by his son Jonathan in 1987.
Services are 1 PM Sunday, March 11 at the Temple Covenant of Peace, 1451 Northampton St., Easton. Interment is in Easton Cemetery. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.
