We are devastated by the loss of our incredible, brilliant, generous, amazing, caring cousin. He was so important to me since birth. We shared the good, the bad, and the ugly with each other. Maurice was both my confidant and my conscience. He never told me what I wanted to hear…He always told me what I needed to hear. We always said that he may not have been there when we wanted him, but he was always there when we needed him.

Rest In Peace, beloved cousin. Say hi to cherished family and all the composers whose music kept us believing a higher power

    All our love,
    Bethy and Ian

    Dear Roberta,
Your extraordinary Uncle lived and loved larger than life. I only wish my life had been graced by his presence long before we found our way to an abundant exchange of thoughts, ideas, family history, Grandma’s recipes, and brain-stimulating ideas, which he’d shower upon me through a plethora of emails over the last 25 years. (Well, that sentence was a mouthful!) I will treasure his writings and miss the anticipation of seeing one of his email gems appear on my computer screen. I’ll always keep my dear cousin Maurice close within a special place in my heart. He will be forever missed and eternally loved by many.

Wishing you peace and joy in your life hereafter, Maurice.
    Cousins Marilynn and Bob

What a warm and special man! It would be lovely to see reference to his delightful imagination in the theater and music areas in which I was fortunate to briefly take part. My thoughts are with his family and many friends.

    Dear Berta,
We are all devastated by the loss of your uncle and our cousin Maurice. You probably are affected more deeply because you two were so very close. It is simply unimaginable, and a shock. No matter if he was ill, and you knew it was coming. Whenever you lose someone you love, it’s always “too soon” no matter how old the person was.
We all will treasure the memories we made with him and all the good times we shared. No one can take them away.
Rest In Peace my talented, brilliant, humorously sarcastic cousin Maurice.
We who loved you will find what we need to soothe our spirits, quiet out minds, and eventually bring peace to us all. You are missed but never forgotten.
    All our LOVE,
    Norman, Lora, Ethan and Allison

I just learned of Maurice’s death….six months too late…and purely by accident. I had known him since high school at Stuyvesant and then at NYU-University Heights, where we were both members of the NYU glee club..and when he was still known as “Murray”. I knew his mom, his dad and his sister Dorothy. We lost touch some time ago, but I never forgot him. He was extremely intelligent, a highly talented composer and a stimulating and “fun” friend. His life partner, Ben Esquillin, was also a true treasure to know. I’m sorry they’re both gone.
