I feel the need to preface this with an anecdote: My dad had what we all thought was a bit of a macabre habit of going to viewings of anyone he even had the remotest relationship to. After reading the obit one night he insisted on paying his respects and while we had never met the man we went along with him and waited in the car, as we all were invited elsewhere. He went in, paid his respects, chatted with the widow and, as he was leaving he found out that the person was not who he thought they were. My wife and I went to Uncle Wesley’s one night several years ago, and stopped at a front lawn on Wood Ave.to admire the flowers. A man called down from the porch to tell my wife what one of the flowers was. Several more years went by and I was walking up Wood one summer morning and Mike was tending the flowers and I told him about our previous stop. He showed me his vegetable garden in the back, and told me how he built the present porch (front) from scratch. So when I saw the obit I thought it might be the same Mike. My sympathy to Darlene and all the family. He was one of the precious few “good guys” in the present day asylum we live in. Hasta la Victoria siempre, Comrade B.

I met Mickey through the Bushkill Valley Quoit League a long time ago. I was one of the young guys as was Mike when he started. Mick and my Father (Charlie Kutz) were friends and he always made me feel like family. He indeed is a special person. I always looked forward to seeing him.
My thoughts and prayers at this sad moment in time.
