Obituaries

Myra J. Hartung, 86, of Williams Township, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Born June 4, 1937 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Elsie S. (Rice) Stryker. Her husband of 42 years, William C. Hartung died in 2004. Myra graduated from Wilson Area High School in 1955 and Churchman Business School in 1957. She was an accountant for several local Ford dealerships for 26 years and was also an accountant for DeMartino Chevrolet. Before retiring in 1998, she was a Certified Nurse Aide at Gracedale for 8 years. She was a volunteer tax counselor for AARP and the IRS for 21 years and enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, gardening, and caring for her farm animals, cats, and dogs. Myra was a member of St. John’s Church on Morgan Hill and a former member of St. John’s UCC, Riegelsville for 8 years where she was the treasurer and sang in the choir.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda Preston of Williams Township, Karen Hartung of Williams Township, and Loretta Murray and her husband, Kyle of Williams Township; six grandchildren, Stephan Oberman, Lauren Preston, Krystie Brandau, Nicole Bacque, Dakota Murray, and Logan Murray; and six great grandchildren, Samuel, AJ, Joseph, Eli, Indie, and Bristol.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Raubsville Cemetery, Royal Manor Rd., Williams Township.
