Mary Ann Barrett

Mary Ann Barrett, 75 of Easton, PA died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at home. Born December 8, 1943 in Hanover, NH she was the daughter of the late Beatrice (Thomas) and Joseph d’Esopo. Her husband C. Keith Barrett died in 1987. She was a graduate of Bryn Mawr College in 1965 and the Doscher Country School of Photography and member of First United Church of Christ, Easton.

She is survived by 3 stepchildren: Keith Barrett of Hampton, VA, Bryan Barrett of Palmer Twp., PA, Lisa Barrett of Northampton, PA; 4 step-grandchildren: Andrea and Andrew Barrett, Kelsey Smith, Angela Neal; and 4 step-great-grandchildren: Dylan, Tyler, Natalie and Nathan.

Services are 11 AM Tuesday, August 6 in First United Church of Christ, 27 N. 3rd St., Easton, with a calling period from 6 to 7:30 PM Monday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment is in Pine Knolls Cemetery, Hanover, NH.

Nancy Rae Lee

Nancy Rae Lee, 83, of Palmer Township, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.

Born March 9, 1936 in Mt. Carmel, PA, she was a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Carrie C. (Buehler) Tietsworth. Her husband, Robert H. Lee died last year.

Nancy worked at Strongwear Pants, Easton and Chain Bike, Bethlehem and was a member of First Baptist Church, Easton.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. Her brother, Arthur W. Tietsworth, Jr., and her sister, Carrie C. Snyder died earlier.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2019 in First Baptist Church of Easton. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Gail S. Levine

Gail S. Levine, 71, of Delray Beach, Florida, died Monday, July 29, 2019.

Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Reba (Abramowich) Seidel.

Surviving are her children, Michael Levine and Beth Ain and 4 grandchildren.

Betty E. Wagner

Betty E. Wagner, 96, of Palmer Township, died Friday, July 26, 2019. Born January 30, 1923 in Bangor, she was a daughter of the late David and Mary (Clewell) Parry. Her husband, Edward F. Wagner, Jr., died in 1976.

Surviving are her children, Dan Wagner and his wife, Brenda, Thomas Wagner, Timothy Wagner, Vickie Lieb and her husband, Stephen, and Susan Wagner; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.

Anthony G. Russo

Anthony G. Russo, 39, of Center Valley, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Gaetano Russo, Jr. and Alice (Wallert) Russo.

He worked at the Days Inn, Allentown and Rip Van Winkle’s Pub, Easton.

Surviving with his parents are his fiancé, Jenny Rodriquez; grandparents, Eleanore Buckley, Daniel Buckley and Gaetano Russo, Sr.; daughter, Nicole Kristina.

Charles Victor “Vic” Young

Charles Victor “Vic” Young, 99, of Forks Township, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Born February 8, 1920 in Freemansburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Beulah Mae (Miller) Young. He was the beloved husband of Thelma “I. “Betty” (Fehr) Young. They were married 76 years.

Charles retired after 40 years from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1985. He was a WWII veteran as a medic in the Battle of the Bulge having served with U.S. Army 84th Inf. 334th Reg. Division (Rail Splitters), received a Purple Heart and Cluster WWII. He was an avid gardener, woodworker and loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty; brother, John; daughters Debbie Crafa and husband, John, Cindy Seiple and husband, Roy; sons, Craig and wife, Dianne, Brian and companion, LaRae McCormick; grandchildren, Timothy Van Horn and wife, Tonya, Joshua Young, Jeremy Young, Rebecca Viglianti and husband, Steven, Ryan Seiple and wife, Danielle, Randy Seiple and wife, Kara, Christine Seiple; great grandchildren, Tyler, Sophia and Owen. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Jennifer Van Horn; brothers, George and Richard and sisters, Marjorie Schlough and Marilyn Smith.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Forks Cemetery.

Cindy L. Messinger

Cindy L. Messinger, 54, of Plainfield Township, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in her home. Born July 18, 1964 in Honesdale, PA, she was a daughter of Wendall and Joyce (Dunn) Sampson. She and her husband, Bruce W. Messinger, were married 25 years.

Cindy graduated from Kutztown University and worked at Health Network Laboratories, Allentown.

Surviving with her husband and parents are her children, Emily Messinger and Benjamin Messinger; brother, Glenn Sampson and his wife, Deneen; and sister, Audrey Neer and her husband, Claud.

Services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:30 pm on Friday in the funeral home and from 10:30 – 11:30 am on Saturday. Interment will be in Wind Gap Cemetery.

Pearl S. Glatt

July 15, 2019

Pearl S Glatt, 90, was born in the Bronx, New York. She was the daughter of the late Solomon and Dorothy (Lilling) Goldman.

She lived much of her life in Brooklyn, New York with her husband Harold R. Glatt of blessed memory. As a young woman, she modeled in the Fur District. She was a Licensed Real Estate Broker in New York. She had a determined ‘can-do’ attitude toward life and always looked for possibilities.

She adored dressing beautifully and the residents of her apartment building referred to her as “The Rockette.” (She had phenomenal legs and wore shorts into her late 80’s!) She loved fine food, music and reading.

Surviving are her children, Rabbi Melody Davis and her husband, Edwin; Alexander S. Glatt and his wife, Kathy; and Dr. Robert B. R. Glatt and his wife, Pamela; two siblings; and five grandchildren, Spencer, Jonathon, Annelise, Brian, and Emily.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Temple Covenant of Peace, 1451 Northampton St., Easton. Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
