Kody W. Kutzler

Kody W. Kutzler, 23, of Wind Gap, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his home.

Born January 7, 1993 in Easton, he was a son of Lisa D. (Nunemaker) Kutzler with whom he resided and Kevin W. Kutzler, Sr. of Easton.

Kody owned K & K Vinyl Works, Wind Gap and was a landscaper for Image Landscape and Design.  He was a Volkswagen enthusiast and a student at Northampton Community College.

Surviving with his parents are his partner, Selina Turtzo and their son, Kole Kutzler; three brothers, Kevin Kutzler, Jr. and his wife, Jessica, Kory Kutzler and his wife, Kim, and Kyler Kutzler and his girlfriend, Emily; his grandparents, Anna Kutzler and Lee and Bernice Nunemaker; and his niece and nephew, Mackenzy and Chase.

Joyce Beverly Freeman

Joyce B. Freeman

Joyce Beverly Freeman, 93, of Easton passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Westminster Village. Born July 14, 1922 in Williams Township at the home of her grandparents Forrest and Caroline Hahn, she was the daughter of the late George Styers and Martha “Molly” Hahn Styers.  Following graduation from Wilson High School in 1940, she worked in the office of Baker Chemical and went on to be the bookkeeper at the Circlon restaurant in Allentown.  In February of 1952 she married Jacob B. Freeman. They resided in Easton and had four sons, one of whom died at child birth in 1954. In May of 1965 her husband passed away and Joyce raised her three sons Alan, Robert and Steven on her own. She went to work as a bookkeeper in Dr. Feinberg’s office where she developed an interest in nursing. She enrolled in nursing school and became an LPN. She also took nursing classes at Northampton Community College. She worked the night shift at Easton Hospital from 1972 until her retirement in 1990. She loved nursing and working with her fellow nurses and aides.

Joyce was of the Jewish faith and a member of Temple Covenant of Peace in Easton. She spent many hours campaigning with her son, State Representative Robert Freeman and also enjoyed reading, staying on top of current events, spending time on her back porch, gazing up at the moon and the stars, taking walks, rides in the country and spending time with friends and family. An upbeat, resilient individual with a good sense of humor, Joyce spread sunshine wherever she went.

She is survived by her sons: Alan and Robert and his wife Terri of Easton; two step-grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob and son, Steven.

Services are 10 AM Wednesday (July 6) in the Temple Covenant of Peace,  1451 Northampton St., Easton with viewing hours from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday (July 5) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment is in Easton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton Area Public Library or the Freeman Fund at the Temple Covenant of Peace.

Son Van Tran

Son Van Tran, 55, of Wilson Borough, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Easton Hospital.

Born July 12, 1960 in Vietnam, he was a son of the late Chuong Van Tran and Ba Thi Trinh.

He was an AutoCAD designer for Follett Corporation.

Surviving are his wife, Hien Doan, a daughter, Ali Tran, two sons, Thinh Vo and Thuan Vo, a sister, Giang Thi Nguyen, and a brother, Thanh Kim Tran.

On June 19, 2016 the lovely and spirit-filled Genevieve Marie (Allen) DeRaimondo of Easton, PA passed away at her daughter’s home in Bethlehem  and was welcomed into eternity by her loving Heavenly Father.  Genevieve was born on June 14, 1932 in New York, New York to the Reverend Raymond and Genevieve (Bradshaw) Allen.  She was married for 46 years to Angelo DeRaimondo before his passing in 1997.

Genevieve was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister in Christ. Throughout her 84 years, Genevieve was a singer and songwriter, ministering to countless people through her gifts of music and teaching, especially to the Easton community and, notably, as a Sunday School teacher and as a KYM Club teacher at Chestnut Hill Chapel.  Most recently, she worshipped at Calvary Chapel in Allentown.  The grace and peace which Genevieve so lovingly exuded will be deeply missed; we will forever hold her in our hearts and the beauty of her spirit and her songs will sing within us until we are united again.  Genevieve was predeceased by a brother (Joseph), her parents, her husband and 2 grandsons.

Survivors: Daughters: Genevieve Bogusky (Donald) of Mohrsville, PA; Mary Christian (Harold) of Bethlehem, PA;  Sister: Virginia Frey of Yucipa, CA; Brothers: Raymond Allen Jr. of California and Samuel Allen of Easton, PA;  Grandchildren: Dondi Bogusky of  San Jose, CA; Joseph Bogusky of San Jose, CA; Nikki Corey (Thomas) of Center Valley, PA; Kristy Christian Petrow (Michael) of Bethlehem, PA; Staff Sergeant Michael Christian (Jacqueline) of Columbia, SC; 12 great-grandchildren; and 22 nieces and nephews including those especially close to their Aunt Gen: John Viggiano Jr., Frances Viggiano Snedeker, Ginger Viggiano Teel, and Hilda Frey Smith all of California.

Services are noon Thursday, (June 23) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA with visitation from 11 AM to noon. Interment is in Hays Cemetery.

Allan R. Diziki

Allan R. Diziki, 69 of Easton, PA died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Easton Hospital.  Born December 29, 1946 in Bayonne, NJ he was a son of the late Al and Alice (Poplawski) Diziki.  He was a 1964 graduate of Middlesex HS in NJ and had been employed by ASA Hydraulics in Branchburg for many years.  He is an army veteran and member of the American Legion, Lester Pfeffer Post 611.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Grace Jenkins; a son: Christopher Diziki and his wife Amy of Dillsburg, PA; step-son: Brian Jenkins of Easton; step-daughter: Allison Phillips-Krutsick and her husband Maurice of Easton; a brother: Richard Diziki and his wife Donna of Hillsborough, NJ and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter.

Services are 10:30 AM Saturday (June 25) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with visitation 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Mildred M. McTague

Mildred M. McTague, 84, of Saylorsburg, died Friday, June 17, 2016 in Whitestone Care Center, Stroudsburg.

Born October 20, 1931 in North Arlington, NJ, she was a daughter of the late John N. and Mildred M. (Mohar) Strom.

Her husband, Clarence McTague died earlier.

Vivian F. Gualberti

Vivian F. Gualberti, 90, of Avona Heights, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Easton Hospital.

Born January 10, 1926 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Donato and Adeline (Pacifico) DeCesare.

Vivian was a supervisor for the Pennsylvania State Employment Service of the Office of Unemployment Compensation for 38 years and retired in 1982.  She was president of the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council for 32 years and president of the Pennsylvania Council on Aging, South East Region.  She graduated from Easton High School in 1943 and owned Viv’s Pastry Shop, Wilson Borough.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilson Borough where she sang in the choir and was a soloist at St. Michaels Church, Easton, Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth and Temple Covenant of Peace, Easton.  She was a volunteer for ProJeCt of Easton in the Adult Literacy program and was a member of PARSE.

Surviving are her son, Frank D. Gualberti of Avona Heights and a brother, Lawrence DeCesare.  Her companion, Julius Gaal, her brother, Nicholas DeCesare and her sisters, Carmella Mammana and Jane Bossert died earlier.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time in the church.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.  Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Dorothy E. Leopold

Dorothy E. Leopold, 101, of Plantation, Florida, formerly of Easton, died Monday, June 13, 2016 in Broward Health North, Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Born September 2, 1914 in Mauch Chunk, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Emma (Miller) Frederickson.

Dorothy was a secretary at Lafayette College and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilson Borough.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Fogarty with whom she resided, a granddaughter, Adrienne Fraser and her husband, Thomas and two great grandchildren, Katie and T. J.  Her husband, Willard Leopold, died earlier.
