Henry W. Amerman, Jr.

Henry W. Amerman, Jr., 92 of Palmer Twp., PA died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at New Eastwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson.  Born November 24, 1924 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late Orpha (Frantz) and Henry Amerman, Sr.

A graduate of Easton High School, he was a Corporal in the Marine Corps during WWII and employed by the Easton Express newspaper for more than 30 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter, he loved baseball and he was a licensed single engine pilot. Henry had been a member of numerous gun clubs, veteran associations, social clubs and was a member of the NRA and F. & A. M.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Estella (Stitzer) Bean Amerman; step-daughter: Sherry Buss and her husband David of Easton; step-son: Thomas Bean and his wife Mary of Pahrump, NV; half-sister: Carol Amerman in Florida; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 step- great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews including: Scott Amerman and Linda Amerman Thatcher. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Katherine Jacoby;  brother: Carl “Bud” Amerman; and sisters: Ethel Tenges and Doris Amerman.

Services are 2 PM Wednesday (April 26 ) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, with visitation from 1 to 2 PM in the funeral home. Interment is in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Theodora L. Wheelen

Theodora L. Wheelen, 72 of Easton, PA died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Easton Hospital. Born February 2, 1945 in Easton she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Garrity. She had been employed by Eastern Affiliated in Easton for more than 20 years before retiring.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Thomas E. Wheelen; 3 children: Terri, Tracy and Thomas, Jr. all of Easton; and 3 grandchildren.

Services are 1:30 PM Monday (April 24) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, with visitation 1 to 1:30 PM. Interment is in Easton Cemetery.

An Luong

An Luong, 77 of Easton died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at home. Born August 20, 1939 in Vietnam he was a son of the late De Van Luong and Cua Thi Nguyen. His wife, Hanh Luong died in February. He was employed by the Victaulic Company for more than 26 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton where he served on the property committee.

He is survived by 6 children: Nguyet, Huong, Trinh, Thu, Sieu, Chuong and 9 grandchildren.

Services are 10 AM Friday (April 21) in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 330 Ferry St., Easton; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements. Interment is in Forks Cemetery.

Raymond W. Payne, Jr.

April 12, 2017

Raymond W. Payne, Jr., 73 of Easton, PA died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Gracedale. He was an Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War and had been in sales for many years before retiring. He is survived by a son Scott.

Rose M. Seibel

Rose M. Seibel, 95, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Tampa, Fla.

Born October 19, 1921 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Marie (Kreil) Merwarth.  Her husband, Robert L. Seibel died in 2006.

Surviving is her son, Robert S. Seibel of Auburndale, Fla.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

John R. Fulper

John R. Fulper, 78, of High Bridge, NJ, died Monday, April 10, 2017 in Gracedale.

Born December 17, 1938 in Somerville, NJ, he was a son of the late Lewis and Pearl (Wydner) Fulper.  His wife, Kathryn (Barber) Fulper died in 2012.

John was a foreman with the High Bridge Road Department until retiring.
He is survived by two daughters, Ginger Zehnbauer of Forks Township and Sheri Malloy of Belvidere, NJ; a son, Ronald Fulper of Neshanic Station, NJ; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be private.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

John R. Decker

John R. Decker, 80 of Easton, PA died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born March 25, 1937 in Wantage Twp., NJ he was a son of the late Frank and Susan Decker.  He had been a carpenter in New Jersey for more than 30 years before retiring.

He is survived by: two grandchildren: Jennifer Burd, with whom he resided and Rafael Fontan; a brother: George Decker and 3 great-grandchildren: Hailey and Brianna Burd and Sabrina Fontan. His wife: Eleanor, son: John, Jr. and daughter: Cindy all died earlier.

Visitation will be held 10 AM to 11 AM Thursday (April 13) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton. Interment will be private in Mount Salem Cemetery, Wantage Twp., NJ.

Carrie M. Geffert

Carrie M. Geffert, 94, of Moore Township, formerly of Palmer Township, died Friday, April 7, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg.

Born June 21, 1922 in Marion Heights, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Matter) Mosloskie.  Her husband, Michael A. Geffert died in 1998.

Carrie was a member of William Parsons Chapter #185, OES.

Surviving are her daughter, Carol M. Ricks and her husband, Tom with whom she resided; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  A grandson and a great granddaughter died earlier.

Services will be private.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
