Theodore C. “Ted” Wieder

Theodore C. “Ted” Wieder, 84, of Bethlehem Township, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Moravian Village.

Born May 10, 1931 in East Greenville, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph Daniel and Stella Rebecca (Moyer) Wieder.

His wife, N. Virginia (Zimmerman) Gaffney Wieder died in 2011.

Ted was a radio announcer and producer for WEST, WFMZ, WEEX, WKAP and WHOL for 59 years and retired in 2007.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilson Borough.

Surviving are his daughter, Virginia Ann Gaffney Bissig and her husband, Dennis of Parsippany, NJ, a brother, Terrance L. Wieder of Emmaus, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, May 9, 2016 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2115 Washington Blvd, Wilson Borough.  A visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until service time on Monday in the church.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Paul “Butch” Buczek

Paul "Butch" Buczek

Paul “Butch” Buczek, 78, formerly of Yonkers, NY and the Bloomsbury/Stewartsville, NJ area died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Lopatcong Care Center.  Born December 18, 1937 in Yonkers, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Miesionczek) Buczek.

He was a Navy veteran and had been employed by the Technicon Company in NJ for 25 years.  He was also a starter for the Fiddler’s Elbow Golf Club in NJ.  Butch loved his family, Atlantic City, golfing, playing cards with friends and he adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by a son: Bob Buczek and his wife Becky of Cary, NC; a daughter: Kellyann Rivera and her husband Jorge of Easton, PA; a sister: Joan Laino of Yonkers; 5 grandchildren: Brooke and Jake Buczek, Breanne, Jordan and Savannah Giberson; and former wife: Maryann Koehler of Bound Brook, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Buczek.

Visitation is 6 to 8 PM Thursday (May 5) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM Friday (May 6) in the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY.

Kenneth W. Shook

Kenneth W. Shook, 102, of Wilson Borough, formerly of Palmer Township, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 in his home.  His wife, Lucy Mae (Bittenbender) Shook died in 2011.

Born November 5, 1913 in Bangor, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Minnie Jane (Frantz) Shook.

He was a purchasing agent and vice president of Victor Balata and Textile Belting Co.  He retired in 1977.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton, a graduate of Churchman Business School and a Past Master of Easton Lodge #152, Free and Accepted Masons.  Kenneth played clarinet and saxophone in various bands in the Easton and Bangor area.  During WWII, he and his wife, Lucy Mae, were Air Raid Wardens.

Surviving are his daughters, Eileen M. Lenhart of Neffs and Jean Louise Shook of Horsham, formerly of Philadelphia, two granddaughters, Iva Mae Frantz and Kristy Anne Lenhart, six great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Masonic Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with a funeral service to follow at 11:15 am.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Centerville Cemetery, Stone Church.

Victoria S. Wagner

Victoria S. Wagner, 85, of Palmer Township, PA died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Gracedale in Nazareth, PA.  Born January 31, 1931 in Phillipsburg, NJ she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (DiBernardi) Cuva. Her husband Charles I. Wagner died earlier.

She was a graduate of Saints Philip and James School in Phillipsburg and a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Palmer Twp.  She also loved reading, bowling and her card clubs.

She is survived by 3 children: Jeffrey Wagner and his wife Beatrice Ann of Lower Nazareth Twp., PA, Leslie Ann Watts and her husband Mark of Winston-Salem, NC, Linda Merritt and her husband Edgar of Palmer Twp.; a sister: Amelia “Amy” Garvey of Bradford, NY; sister-in-law: Verna Wagner of Nazareth; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charles and sisters: Mary Cuva, Josephine Elmo and Angelina Shook.

Service is 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 3 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with a calling period from 10 to 11 AM.  Interment is in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Robert C. Mitman

Robert C. Mitman, 87, of Easton, died Friday, April 22, 2016 in the home of his son, Clay.

Born November 19, 1928 in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Abram L. and Dorothy (Artman) Mitman.

His wife, Marilyn (Schaad) Mitman died in 2007.  Bob served in the Army during WWII.  He was a French teacher at Wilson Area High School for 35 years and retired in 1985.  After retiring, he worked for the Northampton County Department of Human Services.

Surviving are his two sons, Dr. Grant G. Mitman and his wife, June of Butte, Montana and Clay R. Mitman and his wife, Elizabeth of Easton; a brother, Richard Mitman and his wife, Ceil of Sellersville; and four grandchildren, Katie, Clay II, Chris and Amy.

Emma Grembowicz

Emma H. Grembowicz, 93 of Easton, PA died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Abington Manor, Williams Twp.  Born December 29, 1922 in Bath, PA she was a daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Goldschmidt) Kurter.

She worked in the garment industry and as a housekeeper for many years. Emma was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, the Golden Age Club and she loved to play bingo.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Ann Schoeneck of Palmer Twp., PA; son: George Grembowicz of Polk City, FL; 6 grandchildren: John Gregory Schoeneck, Julia Licari, Tricia Lambert, Elizabeth Funseth, Melissa and Matthew Grembowicz  and 12 great-grandchildren: John and David Licari; Shea, Ava and Reed Lambert; Grant, Caroline, Cece and Evelyn Funseth; Dylan, Ethan and Carissa Grembowicz. She was predeceased by her husband Walter R. Grembowicz.

Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 900 Washington St., Easton, PA; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements. Interment is in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Constance Wolfe

Constance Wolfe, 87 of Easton, PA died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Manor Care, Palmer Twp. Born September 21, 1928 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Julia (Kehayros) Hriskos. She was a member of Rock Church of Easton.

She is survived by a sister: Irene Dushkind of Miami, FL; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband John L. Wolfe in 1980 and two sisters: Esther Lirakis and Bessie Hriskos.

Service is 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2016  in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with visitation from 1 to 1:30 PM. Interment is in Easton Heights Cemetery.

Adele V. Ryerson

Adele V. Ryerson, 89, of Palmer Township, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Easton Hospital.

Born August 4, 1926 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late George and Emily (Bruckman) Pierson.

She and her husband, Harold Ryerson were married 18 years.

Adele worked at Fredwill Novelty Co., Easton for 35 years and retired in 1991.

Surviving with her husband, Harold, are a daughter, Terri Gerhard of Plainfield Twp., 2 grandchildren, Christa Reider and Jamie Besz, a great granddaughter, nieces and a nephew.  Her son, David Pierson, her brother, Carl Pierson and her son-in-law, Timothy Gerhard died earlier.

Services will be private.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
