Marian L. Schaller

March 17, 2015

Marian L. Schaller, 86, of Bethlehem Township, formerly of Wilson Borough died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born February 26, 1929 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Georgina (Weightman) Hatfield.

Her husband, Bruce A. Schaller died in 1998.  She was an avid quilter and enjoyed playing pinochle for over 33 years with her card club friends.

Surviving are a son, Bruce D. Schaller of Bethlehem Township; two daughters, Janet L. Flavelle and her husband, Fran of Palmer Township and Carol A. Schaller of Palmer Township; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Nicole and her fiancé, Charles; and a great granddaughter, Emma.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 23 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 7:30 pm in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Richard C. Long

Richard C. Long, 73, of Easton, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in his home.

Born January 20, 1942 in Easton, he was a son of the late Frank R. “Dick” and Bertha (Tournier) Long.

He worked at Mack Printing for 41 years and retired in 2000.

Richard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Easton.  He graduated from Easton High School in 1959, was a member of the Order of Fleas, Easton and was an avid baseball fan.  He enjoyed biking and playing softball.

Surviving is his cousin, Ruth Cameron and her husband Tom of Yonkers, NY.

Services will be private.  Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Thelma B. Federico

Thelma B. Federico

Thelma B. Federico, 92 of Palmer Twp., PA died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Easton Hospital. Born November 9, 1922 in Phillipsburg, NJ she was a daughter of the late Ed and Grace Foulk.

A 1939 graduate of Phillipsburg High School, she had been employed by Ingersoll Rand, the Brown & Williams Insurance Co. and Henry Lehr Insurance Co. before retiring from the Roger Conners Insurance Agency.  She was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ, Palmer Twp. (formerly Memorial UCC) and a life member of the Easton High School Band Boosters.

She is survived by her children: Georgiann Gerlach of Palmer Twp., PA, Kurt Federico of Nazareth, PA, Beth Federico Guadagnino of E. Allen Twp., PA; step-sons: Brian Federico of Bethlehem Twp., PA, Dale Federico of Orefield, PA; 13 grandchildren: Korynne, Mackenzie, Dustin, Breanna, Trent, Kole, Hailey, David, Nicole, Tyler, Alyssa, James and Christopher and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband: George Tieff, second husband: Domenic James Federico, sister: Virginia Wismer and a granddaughter: Jennifer.

Services will be 10 AM Saturday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA with visitation from 6 to 7:30PM Friday. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Richard Dale Beam

Richard Dale Beam, 57, of Allentown, PA died Monday, March 16, 2015 at home.

Born November 22, 1957 in Allentown, he was a construction worker and Christian by faith.

He is survived by his father: Frank F. Beam of Easton, PA; sisters: Sandra Cann of San Diego, CA, Sherri Jones of Saylorsburg, PA, Justine Ciulla of Wilson Borough, PA; 12 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers: Frank Beam and Keith Ahart.

A Memorial service will be held  5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at Christ United Methodist Church, 400 W. Berwick Street, Easton, PA. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Florence E. Campbell

Florence Elizabeth Masteller Campbell, 84, formerly of Wilson Borough, PA died Monday, March 16, 2015 in ManorCare, Yardley, PA.  Born January 15, 1931 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of the late Arthur Muth, Sr. and Susan (Rasely) Muth Stull.

A 1948 graduate of Easton High School, she was affectionately known as the “Lunch Lady”, retiring in 1993 from Wilson Area School District after more than 20 years of service.  Prior to that she had been employed by the former Dixie Cup Co.  She was a lifelong, active member of New Creation United Church of Christ (formerly St. Mark’s UCC) where she was a talented soprano in the church choir, frequent spiritual reader and greeter, member of Church Consistory and involved in various church groups. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Florence was a gifted soloist who performed at many weddings, events and funerals over the years. She was known to greet you with a big smile, infectious laugh and belt out in spontaneous song!

She is survived by her daughter: Karen Yankowy Seavey and her husband Morris of Holland, PA; son: Mark Masteller and his wife Monica of Bethlehem, PA; step-son: Ralph Campbell and his wife Arlene of Bath, PA; step-daughter: Sue Golden of East Berlin, PA; sister: Shirley Scartoli of Easton; sister-in-law: Catharine White of Burlington, NC; aunts: Emma Campbell of Easton and Ethel George of Nazareth; grandchildren: Jacob, Bryan, Jared, Ralph, Robin, Phillip, Kyle, Andrea and their loving families; many great- grandchildren; nieces; nephews; her best friend Delores and friends at ManorCare. She was predeceased by her husband Rolf Campbell in 1997; an infant daughter: Melody Ann Masteller; a sister: Evelyn McIntyre and a brother: Arthur Muth, Jr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday (Mar. 20) in Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA with visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Ruth E. Gray

Ruth E. Gray, 93, of Palmer Township, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in her home.

Born May 20, 1921 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Orville and Lilly Mae (Bowes) Hineline.

Her husband, Karl F. Gray, died in 2009.  Ruth graduated from Wilson High School in 1939 and worked at J. T. Baker, Phillipsburg.   She also worked in the bookstore at Northampton Community College.

She was a very active member of Green Pond United Methodist Church, formerly Calvary United Methodist Church, Easton and hosted the craft workshop for the church bazaar.

Surviving are two sons, Lawrence A. Gray and his wife Carolyn of Palmer Township and Cary F. Gray of Palmer Township; a daughter, Judy Abert and her husband Bob of Bethlehem Township; four grandchildren, Kevin Gray, Timothy Gray and his wife Suzette, Jillian Abert, and Christa Abert; three great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.  A brother and two sisters died earlier.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2015 in Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Road, Easton.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time in the church.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Willard R. “Dagwood” Rissmiller

Willard “Dagwood” R. Rissmiller, 87, of Williams Township, passed away at home after an eleven year battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was born July 7, 1927 to the late Samuel and Florence (Messinger) Rissmiller.

He was the husband of Marie (Paolini) Rissmiller.  Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

He retired after 45 ½ years employed at Mack Printing Co., Easton.  He loved to make others smile which fit right into the 25 years he spent playing Santa for the Williams Township Fire Co., the Williams Township Elementary School, area day cares, Riegelsville Fire Co., private parties, and neighbors.  He also enjoyed bowling and bocce with his friends.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Congregational “Blue” Church, Liberty Hose Co., and the Fleas Club where he served as president.

Surviving along with his wife, Marie, is a daughter, Vicki L. Drake and her husband, Bryan; a granddaughter, Emily Drake; a brother Merle Rissmiller, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Gladys (Hoffman) Rissmiller; sisters, Grace Rittenhouse, Pauline Primrose, and Betty Hunsicker; brothers, Raymond, Samuel, and Stanley Rissmiller; and a nephew, Richard Hunsicker.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 am until service time.  Interment will be in Raubsville Cemetery.
