Beulah C. Shook

Beulah C. Shook, 96, a lifelong resident of Wilson Borough, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Alexandria Manor, Nazareth.

Born August 7, 1918 in Wilson Borough, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mabel (Herman) Clewell.

Her husband, James M. Shook died in 1997.

Beulah was a member of First Moravian Church, Easton where she was the church organist and choir director for 73 years until retiring at the age of 90.  She also served as a church elder.  She graduated from Wilson High School in 1936.

Surviving are her daughter, Janet Morrow and her husband, John of Phillipsburg; a son, James A. Shook of Darlington, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Brian and Brad Shook, Ryan Morrow and Jenna Harry; and a great granddaughter, Lauren Shook.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in First Moravian Church, 225 N. Tenth St., Easton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday in the church.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Moravian Church, 225 N. 10th St., Easton, PA 18042. John Richard Schoeneck

John Richard Schoeneck

John Richard Schoeneck, 77 of Palmer Twp., PA passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 29, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. Born August 3, 1937 in Easton, PA he was a son of the late John and Marion (Kreitz) Schoeneck.

A 1955 graduate of Easton High School, he attended Lafayette College and proudly served in the US Air Force. He and his brother Enoch owned Keystone Packaging Service, Inc. in Phillipsburg, NJ.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Mary Ann (Pintande) Schoeneck; 4 children: John Gregory Schoeneck of Christiansburg, VA, Julia Licari and her husband Louis A. of Easton, PA, Tricia Lambert and her husband David of Hopkinton, NH, Elizabeth Funseth and her husband Karl of Pipersville, PA; his brother Enoch Schoeneck and his wife Jane of Forks Twp., PA; and 9 grandchildren: John and David Licari, Shea, Ava and Reed Lambert, Grant, Caroline, Cece and Evelyn Funseth.

His funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday (April 2)  in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton, PA. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp., PA.

Margot E. Palmer

Margot E. Palmer, 76, formerly of Pennington, NJ, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, PA.

Born September 18, 1938 in Konigsberg, East Prussia, she was a daughter of the late Kurt Gustav and Dora Elisabeth (Teubler) Adebahr.

Her husband, John C. “Jack” Palmer died in 2012.  Margot worked for The College of New Jersey in the Alumni Affairs department.

She was a member of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, Ewing, NJ and she sang in the church choir.

Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Booser of Martins Creek, PA, Jennifer Barker of Robbinsville, NJ, and Jacqueline Palmer of Haddonfield, NJ; a son, John Palmer of Chalfont, PA; a brother, Burkhard Adebahr in Germany; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Abiding Presence Lutheran Church.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time in the church.  Interment will be in Harbourton Cemetery, Lambertville, NJ.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, PA is handling the arrangements.

Jorge A. Miranda

Jorge A. Miranda, 79, of Forks Twp., PA died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at home.

Born November 2, 1935 in Ecuador he was a son of the late Olegario and Ana Maria (Cepeda) Miranda.

He was an accountant for a chemical company in Brooklyn, NY for 40 years before retiring.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Cecilia Miranda, with whom he resided, Rocio Aguilar in Texas; a son: George A. Miranda in New York City; brother: Enrique Miranda; sister: Ines Trivino; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday (Mar. 21) in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Rose Inn Ave., Nazareth, PA, with visitation from 2 – 3 p.m. in the church; the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling arrangements.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, NY.

Anna M. Gehret

Anna M. Gehret, 83 of Easton, PA died Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Easton Hospital.

Born December 21, 1931 in Dearborn, MI she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Csuka) Barnoski.

Anna enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books, going to the casino and soap operas. She also loved her cat Duchess and her granddogs, Sarah and Krissy.

She is survived by her son: William J. Gehret with whom she resided; her daughter: Debra DeLucca and her husband Greg of Palmer Twp., PA; a sister: Dorothy Setzer and her husband Bruce of Nazareth, PA; and nieces: Sharyn Setzer, Andrea Smith and her husband Jason. She was predeceased by her husband Strickland S. Gehret, a brother: George Barnoski and his wife Doris, and a grandson: Nate Medellin.

Services are private; interment will be in Forks Cemetery. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Marian L. Schaller

March 17, 2015

Marian L. Schaller, 86, of Bethlehem Township, formerly of Wilson Borough died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born February 26, 1929 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Georgina (Weightman) Hatfield.

Her husband, Bruce A. Schaller died in 1998.  She was an avid quilter and enjoyed playing pinochle for over 33 years with her card club friends.

Surviving are a son, Bruce D. Schaller of Bethlehem Township; two daughters, Janet L. Flavelle and her husband, Fran of Palmer Township and Carol A. Schaller of Palmer Township; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Nicole and her fiancé, Charles; and a great granddaughter, Emma.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 23 in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton.  A visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 7:30 pm in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  Offer online condolences at www.AshtonFuneralHome.com.

Richard C. Long

Richard C. Long, 73, of Easton, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in his home.

Born January 20, 1942 in Easton, he was a son of the late Frank R. “Dick” and Bertha (Tournier) Long.

He worked at Mack Printing for 41 years and retired in 2000.

Richard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Easton.  He graduated from Easton High School in 1959, was a member of the Order of Fleas, Easton and was an avid baseball fan.  He enjoyed biking and playing softball.

Surviving is his cousin, Ruth Cameron and her husband Tom of Yonkers, NY.

Services will be private.  Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Thelma B. Federico

Thelma B. Federico, 92 of Palmer Twp., PA died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Easton Hospital. Born November 9, 1922 in Phillipsburg, NJ she was a daughter of the late Ed and Grace Foulk.

A 1939 graduate of Phillipsburg High School, she had been employed by Ingersoll Rand, the Brown & Williams Insurance Co. and Henry Lehr Insurance Co. before retiring from the Roger Conners Insurance Agency.  She was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ, Palmer Twp. (formerly Memorial UCC) and a life member of the Easton High School Band Boosters.

She is survived by her children: Georgiann Gerlach of Palmer Twp., PA, Kurt Federico of Nazareth, PA, Beth Federico Guadagnino of E. Allen Twp., PA; step-sons: Brian Federico of Bethlehem Twp., PA, Dale Federico of Orefield, PA; 13 grandchildren: Korynne, Mackenzie, Dustin, Breanna, Trent, Kole, Hailey, David, Nicole, Tyler, Alyssa, James and Christopher and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband: George Tieff, second husband: Domenic James Federico, sister: Virginia Wismer and a granddaughter: Jennifer.

Services will be 10 AM Saturday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA with visitation from 6 to 7:30PM Friday. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
