Eileen L. Graf

June 12, 2015

Eileen L. (Connelly) Graf, 88 of Phillipsburg, NJ died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Easton Hospital. She was a longtime resident of New York City before moving to New Jersey and was a former member of Catholic Church of Annunciation in Bloomsbury, NJ.

She is survived by a son: Howard W. Graf, Jr. of Hillsborough, NJ, a daughter: Christine Graf of Easton, PA, sisters: Dale Brodeur of New Milford, CT, Faith Padovani of New York City; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Howard W. Graf and daughter Nancy Lee Graf.

Services will be private. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Edith Kutsopias

Edith Kutsopias, 90 of Palmer Twp., PA died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Easton Hospital. Born September 3, 1924 in Media, PA she was the daughter of the late Mary (Wiley) and Albert Burnley.

A graduate of Easton High School, she had worked for her daughter, Eileen at the Play it Again Video Store in Easton for several years.

She is survived by her daughter: Eileen Ross, with whom she resided and two grandsons: Randy and Brian Ross. Her husband Louis T. Kutsopias died in June of 1993.

Myrtle C. “Shorty” Frenchko

Myrtle C. “Shorty” (Inscho) Frenchko, 82, of Easton, PA died Monday, June 8, 2015 in Manor Care Health Services, Palmer Twp., PA.

She was born May 21, 1933 in Stewartsville, NJ and was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School. She had been employed by U.G.I. for 37 years before retiring in 1996. Shorty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton; the Junior Order of United American Mechanics; and Order of Eastern Star, Stewartsville Chapter. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Easton Hospital and enjoyed arts and crafts with friends.

She is survived by her grandson: Jason J. Frenchko and his wife Amanda of Easton; and 2 great-granddaughters: Miranda and Lindsay. She was predeceased by her husband: John “Herby” Frenchko in 2006 and her son: John “Chuck” Frenchko in 2004.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday (June 12) in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 330 Ferry St., Easton, with visitation 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton, PA. Interment will be private in Stewartsville Cemetery.

Fernando Arreola, 22 of Palmer Twp., PA died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus.

Born November 27, 1992 in Chicago, IL he was the son of Maria (Velazquez) Arreola and Fernando Arreola, Sr. He was a graduate of Easton High School.

Survivors: His parents and two brothers: Daniel and Adrian.

Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday (June 11) in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, St. Bernard’s Oratory, 132 S. 5th St., Easton, PA with visitation 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Interment is in South Easton Cemetery. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements

Madeline Torres-Perez

Madeline Torres-Perez, 44, of Palmer Township, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born September 16, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Eva (Herrera) Torres.

She and her husband, Mynor Perez were married 18 years.

Surviving with her husband, Mynor, are her children, Robert, Joshua, Jeremy, Jasmine, Julianna, Jannelie and Jennipher and one grandchild.

Frieda H. Paulus

Frieda H. “Aunt Honey” Paulus, 89, of Bethlehem Township, died Friday, June 5, 2015 in Gracedale.

Born June 10, 1925 in Emmaus, she was a daughter of the late John and Anelia (Shuran) Lizun.

Her husband, Harold E. Paulus died in 1975.  She worked at Nicki Lynn Sportswear, Miller Heights for 12 years and was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, Palmer Township for over 50 years.

Surviving are five daughters, Regina Driver, Marlene Detweiler, Elaine Paulus, Cindy Yavorski and Jayne Emrich; a son Norman Paulus; a sister, Margaret Peterson; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.  A son, Edward Paulus died in infancy.  Her sisters, Sophie, Frances, Verna and Mary and her brothers, Paul, John and Samuel also died earlier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Township.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time in the church.  Interment will be in Farmersville Cemetery.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.

Jane M. Myers

Jane M. Myers, 66 of Palmer Twp., PA passed away peacefully, Monday, June, 1, 2015, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 31, 1948 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of Elwood Ayers of Easton and the late Irene (Haring) Ayers. She and her devoted husband William celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 2.

A 1966 graduate of Easton High School, she attended Churchman’s Business College and had been employed by Alpha Portland Cement and AT&T for several years. Jane was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ, formerly Memorial UCC where she served as a Board President, Deacon, Elder and had been named Woman of the Year. She also enjoyed watching Penn State football, the Philadelphia Phillies and traveling.

She will be dearly missed by her husband William; and was a loving mother to her daughter: Christa Harbour and her husband Jack of Palmer Twp. She is also survived by her father: Elwood; sister: Karen Schoeppll and her husband Michael of Lower Mt. Bethel Twp.; and brother: Arthur Ayers and his wife Sharon of Easton.

Services will be 10 AM Friday (June 5) in the Ashton Funeral Home, 1337 Northampton St., Easton with visitation 6 to 8 PM Thursday and 9:30 to 10 AM Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Jon W. Stem

Jon W. Stem, 65, of Allentown, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Born July 15, 1949, he was a son of the late Jack and Elizabeth “Betty” (Brewen) Stem.

Jon was a graduate of Valparaiso University.

Surviving are his sister, Lee Ann Scanlon of Perkasie, PA and his brother, Jan W. Stem of Richmond, VA.

Private graveside services will be held at the Northampton Memorial Shrine.  The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
